"The Ski Trip" is the twelfth episode of the Disney Channel Original series American Dragon: Jake Long.

Recap[]

Jake goes on a ski trip issued by the school and after their first date, he thinks that it's time to tell Rose that he was the American Dragon while on the trip. Along the way, Rose starts acting strange. After some weird discoveries, it seems that the Huntsgirl was on the ski trip with the school. Also, Jake seems to have found out something new about Rose, something that he thought was impossible, but becomes a reality.

Plot[]

Jake and Rose are in a snowfield just after making a snowman, but the snowman has no arms. Rose goes to get some sticks. Jake then uses his dragon fire breath to melt the snow and make it look like an ice sculpture of Rose. After Rose comes back she exclaims, "Jake, how did you do that? That's awesome!" Jake replies, "Not as awesome as the real thing." The two almost share a kiss, but Rose is contacted by the Huntsman, then apologizes to Jake and runs off.

Later at school, Jake tells his friends about his experience. Spud is impatient because Jake hasn't kissed Rose yet. Jake says that because Valentine's Day is this week, he will tell Rose he's a dragon. Spud and Trixie quickly cover Jake's mouth at the presence of Hans Rotwood. Hans exclaims, "What fun this weekend will be!" Trixie, Spud and Jake quickly dodge snowballs, with Hans taking the snowballs instead. Later on, Rotwood angrily explains the rules for the ski trip. Trixie does her best to convince Jake not to expose his identity to Rose, but Jake doesn't listen. Spud then tries to come up with words to write on a Valentine's Day card. Rose then gets on the bus and waves at Jake, but Rotwood grabs her by the arm and puts her beside Brad. Brad tries to flirt with her and makes Jake jealous. A few hours later they arrive at their destination. Hans hands out the ski passes, but he's tripped up by excited children and injured. Spud then confesses his love for the ski lift. Trixie asks Jake to explain why Spud was acting weird about the ski lift. Jake tells Trixie that Spud has never made it on the ski lift and that he's scared of it.

Jake and his friends find their ways to their rooms with the ski pass Rotwood gave them. Trixie finds out that she's rooming with Rose, and Jake asks her to find out everything Rose likes - her hopes, dreams and nail polish shade. Trixie immediately declines until Jake promises he'll pay her. Trixie then agrees and enters her room. Jake makes his way to his room and then finds out he's rooming with Brad. Brad then throws a ball at Jake, sending him flying through another room where Spud notices two girls having a pillow fight. Spud jumps in and gets hit 6 times while Jake gets back up on his feet. Jake walks in and pulls him out, but Spud refuses to leave and Jake walks back into his room. Rotwood is on crutches explaining the rules for the ski lift, but gets caught on the end of a ski board and is injured again. Jake starts asking questions about Rose to Trixie. Rose then runs into Jake and notices the dragon on his board. Jake is baffled and quickly tries to change the subject to Rose's birthmark. Spud then tries to show Rose his birthmark but is pushed by Trixie. Brad rudely interrupts and takes Rose away from Jake. We then see a montage of Spud trying to master the ski lift. Afterwards, Jake uses his enhanced hearing and hears the loud roar of the abominable snowman. Jake is quick to interrupt Rose's conversation with the Huntsman. Jake and Rose then start a battle. Jake dominates and Rose runs off, leaving her ski pass behind.

Later on, Jake is talking to his friends about the evidence he found claiming that Huntsgirl goes to his school. Spud thinks the gang should set a trap in order to capture Huntsgirl. Jake then attacks a mannequin and is laughed at. Jake then overhears that Rose wants to go sleighing, and offers to join her again. Brad interrupts and takes Rose away from Jake again. Jake and his friends come up with various schemes but nothing works. Rose demonstrates her strength by body-slamming a boy into Rotwood while asking Hans for another ski pass. A few hours go by and Jake is in his room with Brad when he hears that a blizzard is coming. He claims that ladies love blizzards because it makes them "snuggly" and explains his strategy to get Rose to fall in love with him. Trixie then realizes Rose is Huntsgirl, but Jake ignores her and uses his dragon power to get Trixie off his back and he walks into the blizzard.

He follows Brad and dragons up to find Rose, but instead finds Huntsgirl and falls into a trap. Meanwhile, Trixie is extremely angered that he didn't listen to her, and says that that she doesn't care about him anymore. Spud says, "I'm worried about him too." Spud and Trixie head out into the blizzard but are stopped by Rotwood, but Rotwood is injured again. Spud and Trixie make it away from their dorms but they can't climb the mountain, so they use the ski lift. Meanwhile, Jake is still in Huntsgirl's trap, where he subtly flirts with her. Jake slips into a big snowball and hits Brad, and then Brad hits Rotwood. Jake chases Rose, catches her and pins her down to a tree. He has the chance to kill her but passes it up at the moment he finds out that Rose is Huntsgirl. Rose gets out of her trap but gets caught in a landslide, but Jake saves her. She sarcastically thanks Jake, but still tries to slay him. Spud and Trixie arrive just in time, and Spud is happy that he mastered the ski lift. Rose escapes and Jake later apologizes to his friends. Jake gets on the bus, but completely ignores Rose. Rose is hurt and finds another seat. Spud is still on the ski lift, but falls off and claims that he dumped the ski lift.
