"The Spy Who Came in from the Playground" is the second segment of the thirty-sixth episode of Recess.
Synopsis[]
The gang make a friend of new kid James Stone and show him all their tricks, but soon regret that.
Plot[]
After pulling another prank, the Recess Gang meet James Stone, a cool looking kid who has just moved there. The Gang easily recruit him into their ranks and bring him in pulling pranks with them. Afterwards, they begin to show Stone all the cool tricks and advantages they found in the school to stay out of trouble such as messing with the school clock to keep recess running longer, entering the school through a hidden basement door, and collecting flowers from Principal Prickly's garden to bribe the lunchlady. The next day at school, the Gang are startled to find that everything has been blocked off with Miss Finster catching them trying to use the basement entrance.
The Gang believe that Randall is behind the their overturned luck and chase him into the bathroom where they hear a mysterious buzzing noise. They quickly discover that James Stone is actually an adult posing as a child who is trying to prepare for Superintendent Skinner's arrival. Feeling betrayed, the Gang decide to get revenge on him. The Gang plan to have Skinner get strung up by a flagpole and bring Stone in on the prank. However when it gets pulled off, the Gang have Randall pin the blame on Stone who is caught and outed as an adult, much to his embarrassment and humiliation. Despite all their secrets getting blocked off, T.J. tells the Gang that they will just discover new ones.
