The Tale of Silyan (Macedonian: Приказната за Силјан) is a North Macedonian documentary film produced and directed by Tamara Kotevska. It was released in select theaters on November 28, 2025.
Synopsis[]
Follows Nikola, a farmer in Macedonia, who is unable to sell his land and crops due to new government policies. His family abandons him to look for a future abroad. Nikola gets a job as a landfill attendant, where he comes across an injured White stork, Sylian. Nikola saves the bird, with the two forming a bond.
Production[]
In August 2025, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures acquired the distribution rights to the documentary, after making its world premiere at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival.[1]
