Thor: Love and Thunder is an upcoming Marvel film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It will be the fourth movie centered around Thor Odinson, the Marvel Comics character created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and Larry Lieber, in turn based on the Thor character from Norse Mythology. It will be released on May 6, 2022. It is the twenty-ninth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the sixth and final film of Phase Four.

Production
On January 11, 2018, it was reported by Marvel Studios News that Chris Hemsworth and Taika Waititi had talked about a potential fourth Thor movie.[7]
On April 17, 2019, Tessa Thompson revealed that there has been a pitch for a potential fourth Thor movie, with Taika Waititi possibly coming back to direct the film.[8]
On July 16, 2019, The Hollywood Reporter announced that a fourth Thor movie was in development at Marvel Studios and that Taika Waititi would return as the writer and the director.[9]
On July 20, 2019, at San Diego Comic Con, Kevin Feige revealed the title of the film, and that Natalie Portman would be reprising her role as Jane Foster, who would be claiming the mantle of Mighty Thor from the 2014 Thor series.
On March 9, 2020, Vin Diesel revealed in an interview with Comicbook.com, that the film will feature the Guardians of the Galaxy.[4]
Trivia
- Thor: Love and Thunder will be the first superhero film in the MCU to be part of a tetralogy.
- Chris Hemsworth confirmed in an interview that this won't be his last appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as he will continue to play Thor beyond this film.[10][11]
