  • I've been wondering for a long time now when the heck that Goofy Movie combo pack on Blu-Ray is ever gonna come out!  As you may of known, A Goofy Movie is so far Disney's only movie not to be released in its original aspect ratio.  If the films were to come out on Blu-Ray, it would solve that quickly and A Goofy Movie would get to join the other Disney movies to get full widescreen support.  But anyways, ever since that little promo for it showed up in a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse DVD, I've been waiting to hear further news on a release date.  Do you guys hope Disney hurries up on releasing these movies on Blu-Ray soon?

    • Any thoughts on this?

    • I think that they might release it later this year or early 2015 for it's 20th anniversary.

    • I was thinking the same thing, still though, I think A Goofy Movie is a big enough movie for Disney to upgrade to Blu-Ray sooner then later.

    • I have done a petition to bring out those 2 on DVD and Blu Ray in widescreen since last year. Sign here.

Your welcome, I mostly want the first film on Blu Ray in widescreen.

    • I also hope that if it comes to Blu-ray that it won't have bad video quality like Home on the Range, The Sword in the Stone, and A Very Merry Pooh Year did on Blu-ray.

I do have the Sword in the Stone on Blu Ray and I didn't really care about the video quality when I first got it since I just wanted the movie. It's my personal favorite underrated Disney film. The humor and the hilarious dialog always cracks me up.

Well, I hope its true!  Or else, a Spring release for 2015 would be nice to celebrate A Goofy Movie's 20th anniversery.

I noticed that, but they only showed the cover to the stand alone Blu Ray of Ichabod and Mr. Toad on DVDizzy. But I hope they will reveal the cover to the 2-movie pack version with Fun and Fancy Free.

I think that Disney is most likely waiting for 2015 so they can release a 20th anniversary edition. Also do you guys think that DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp should be released on Blu-ray for it's 25th anniversary next year?

I would love to see DuckTales the Movie on Blu-Ray!  Even though it was one of Disney's cheaper animated productions, I would still love to see it remastered on Blu-Ray.

    • I really hope this blu ray edition happens, I live in Australia and my DVD version says it is widescreen but it is also a 4:3 transfer so when played on a hd tv the picture is unfortunately very small in the middle of the screen with black bars around all sides. It must be something to do with the Disney gold classic DVDs because my copy of hercules is the exact same deal but luckily that had a blu ray release. Pleeeease Disney I cannot continue watching in such low quality!

The only way to get the widescreen version of the first movie for now is either buy the Laserdisc release from the 90s, or buy the Australian or European DVD releases (but those copies are of course PAL region versions that are pitched up on the soundtrack).

True, but the only catch to it is that you have to flip the side of the disc to continue watching the rest of the movie. Remember that many laserdisc releases of movies had half of the the film split into 2 sides.

The reason I say a 2-movie pack with An Extremly Goofy Movie is because I know for sure Disney always does 2-movie packs of their films with the sequels included.

Ah, okay. Thanks for the update. I hope Disney eventually puts the high definition version on digital, it’s a shame it isn’t. There’s actually a few different films that either don’t have digital HD or digital at all, like the original Brave Little Toaster if I recall correctly.
