  • I don't if anybody else had a similar idea, but if there already was or IS a thread like this, feel free to inform me.

I was kind of reading Frozen fanfics, on Fanfiction.net and I came across one of particular interest. Mainly because part of it felt like something that actually COULD work for an official film. Not all of it, but some of it. Here's the link to the story:

    https://www.fanfiction.net/s/9903338/1/Heart-of-Fire

Basically, the idea is Anna discovering she has the power of fire. The fanfic was never completed, but I really like what the writer did with such an idea, though I kind of feel by the last couple of chapters, it kind of got over the top. But, everything that came before it I felt would make a good offical movie.

What do you think? Should there be a Frozen 2 where Anna has the power of fire? Why or why not?

      Loading editor
    • No. How the heck would she not know about having fire powers after all this time? It's unreasonable. Unless she gains them from something but still...

The fanfic itself in the link actually explains it. And pretty well at that.

    • Alright where do we begin.

I think Anna and fire powers is a stretch but I did like how you tried to weave in the scene from the beginning into your narrative, very well done. So why do I think Anna and fire powers is not such a good idea? Well Anna did a great job of being ordinary and yet was also an individual who possessed immense strength; her never-faltering loyalty to her sister was her greatest quality and one anyone can relate to. We all have our support systems, people who are or that we consider family and we'd do anything to help them.

This leads into the second problem which is Anna's behavior as a result of discovering her powers...I just cannot picture Anna being filled with that much hatred.

All this being said, your writing skills are actually quite solid and I found your bits with Olaf to be genuinely funny (Han's Christian Andersen naming game lol). And again, your allusions to the film are excellently done as well (Weselton and real dancing lol) and I do like how you tried to expand further on Hans. Not to mention that GREAT reference to Avatar. While the story wouldn't really cut it for me as a sequel, I do believe your writing is quite good and that if you keep at it, you might just come up with something sequel-worthy. I'll have to give it a second read because I never believe you get the full experience of anything the first time around, but these are my general thoughts. Anna honestly is the only issue I find with the story but because of how central she is to the plot, the whole thing is affected.

I didn't write the fanfic in the link. You actually thought I wrote it. I wish I did, but I didn't.

The fanfic was where I GOT the idea for the premise. I came up with the idea because of this fanfic. But, I didn't write the fanfic itself.

    • Oh! My mistake :/

Well I guess my critique would be better off for the writer. As it is, my thoughts on it as a sequel are clear.

It's OK. We all make mistakes. Well, I agree with you on that. I kind of think the writer went a bit overboard by the time Anna went on a rampage (ironic considering I love seeing mass destruction, but the first was mostly a children's movie) but it could work as a sequel if they tweaked it a bit, took out the entire rampage sequence and stuff.

    • It had the makings of a good pitch but yeah, it definitely would need tweaking. Shame there's no more feedback in the thread...I guess people just don't like reading :(

Unfortunate. But, MAYBE, due to the increased activity on this thread, MAYBE more people will come.

I also had an idea for a New Lion King movie that focuses on Scar. Here's a link to that:

The Main Points of my story:

      - There is another people who had an ice power like Elsa

      - Hans back to Arendelle for revenge

and the rest wasn't finished yet.

Their is no good reason to put a pyrokinetic charecter in also if that charecter was a villain then it would be the old one elament vs another elament (wich I think has been done before) and I think that one some leval Frozen might be unique because it's about one elament (snow and Ice) and not about the other elaments (just a thory). Also why should Anna (as it said above) have fire powers, she was already great being the fearless warm optumistic person she was in the movie why would she need fire powers. I just don't see any good reason make Anna a fire charecter or have anyother charecter with thous abilitys.

    • I kind of like the idea. Not really sure if they should be good or evil, but what if they became a romantic interest for Elsa? It would be interesting to see that.

Side note:If there ever was a sequel, I'd also think it would be cute if Olaf got a little snowgirlfriend.

I forgot I even did this idea to be honest with you, but still glad you like it. I guess.

    • if anyone has seen the fourth season of Once Upon a time, it sort of acts as a non-canon sequel to frozen.

that being said, i hope that they inorporate some stuff from the original fairytale to the sequel (e.g. maybe an evil troll as the trolls were meant to be evil, or the snow queens magic mirror)

    • My theory is that Elsa has winter powers, yet Anna has summer powers. Although Anna's powers consist of making others happy, making the sun shine brighter. She doesn't know because the summer powers aren't as good as winter powers.

    • That sounds like a cool idea.I had a idea of like a Evil King from a rival kingdom seeking revenge on Arendelle for something they did long ago, like a great war or something like that.

    • Fire powers would be really cool!!!!! I don't know how likely it is that Anna would have them, though. :P

    • I don't know if anyone's still reading this thread, but I liked that fic... up until the last part. The author really butchered Anna's character at that point. With that said, I have seen some other (better) stories out there about Fire!Anna. I especially liked this fancomic:

      http://remainundefined.deviantart.com/art/SCORCHED-Frozen-graphic-novel-Page-1-447828983

Premise here is that a wicked sorceress appears to Anna and Kristoff and curses Anna with fire powers because Anna ruined her plans for Arendelle to freeze, which implies that the sorceress knew about and likely was the reason Elsa had ice powers. We know Elsa was born with her abilities, but it's never explained how or why. My guess (in the comic) is that the sorceress cursed Queen Idun while she was pregnant with Elsa (similar to how the Queen of Corona's consumption of the medicine made from the magic healing flower while pregnant led to Rapunzel's birth with super-long magic healing hair).

    • In all honesty, I love that idea but maybe instead of Anna having powers, Elsa, Anna and Kristoff meet someone else who has fire powers from another kingdom? Although right now we don't really know what the plot for frozen 2 will be. I hope we get to see other kingdoms. I'm still confused as to why people ship siblings and want Elsa to have a 'man' or 'woman' even though for all we know she could be like Todd from Bojack and not be attracted to anyone in that way hence her single status.

    • I do have 1 idea and that's not to the subject of Anna secretly having fire powers, but my idea is a fire king named "James", who falls in love with Queen Elsa.

And I do believe that there are number of reasons why I choose my idea:

      1. Because every night, I have the same dream of James and Elsa being together forever.

2.So it wouldn't have Jack Frost or a Girlfriend to be Elsa's love interest.

      3. For an old saying "Love is Fire and Ice".

    • What make Frozen so good is that it subversives expectancies.

Elsa cares more for Anna and the Kingdom then she does for her self. So it is unlikely that a love interest will appear, however it would be nice. That being said, both sisters would be under some societal pressure to produce an heir to continue the dynasty. I don’t think Elsa is too worried because she can see that Anna has found her true love and will produce the heir. Remember that Frozen is set in the 1830’s, so the life expectancy was only 37 years old.

Anna does have powers, but not in a magical way. Anna’s power is her huge heart and personality. Like Elsa, these aspects are what make them who they are.

I don’t think Hans will ever step foot in Arendelle again, he is a 'Persona non grata’( person not appreciated). The best that can happen is that his ship is turned around, at worst he will be arrested for teason.

I doubt they will deal much with Hans because the novel[ A Frozen Heart] already deals with Hans backstory and his motivations. His home life is actually worst than what he told Anna.

Frozen at it’s core is the story of two sisters. So the sisters will be at the center of the story.

actually its already confirmed she is asexual/aromantic in a book named frozen the secret admirer where Anna is romantic but Elsa is not, just dates men for fun but anna is all that matters to her. The only reason #charmingprinceforelsa was created is because #giveelsaagirlfriend started it first and it looks like both sides will lose because Elsa is someone who has a story outside of romance and Jennifer lee knows that's what she wants so there is no way she would give the fans what they want because the only purpose that hashtag has is just to prove a point, and that's not good.
