Dam I hate Political correctness. It is a infringment on freedom of speech, and should not be denied to anyone
Example of how stupid polticial correctness is
Religion > Gays (Not allowed)
Religion < Gays (Allowed)
Comics of Muhammad > Terrorist (Get shot at)
Comics of Muammad getting gun down (allowed)
The double standard of it astounds me, and I wish we can say what we want without someone putting a gag in our mouths
Because of the content of racism and stereotypes of African-Americans, "Song of the South" was not available in its entirety on Laserdisc, Beta or VHS in the U.S.A. or on DVD & Blu-ray worldwide. Did you get that anyway!
I was enjoying the Bare Rabbit story and the story
I own it on dvd
Song Of The South is indeed available uncut and in it's entirety on laserdisc. I own a copy and it is positively complete and uncut. I bought it off of eBay and original copies do occasionally show up. Also watch for the Japanese version which is also intact though you can watch it with subtitles or a dubbed Japanese track if you want to (which can seem very funny at times). The NAACP went after Disney years ago and got them to ban this film. Sad and ridiculous. It is a great film about a major black folk hero and, in fact, though the blacks in the film are portrayed as poor people, they are NOT slaves. At one point, Uncle Remus packs to leave to go to Atlanta. They are a free people to come and go as they please. The real negative characters in the film are the white plantation lady and some of the white kids. The little white boy gets hurt and the black plantation workers all come and hold a vigil outside the main house. Banning the film is a disgrace really and as it was made in 1946 it really does a good job of presenting the Uncle Remus tales without being offending to anyone. NAACP really did it's own people a disservice with this one. Matter of fact, search Google and you will find places that have the uncut copy.
