  • Bob Iger, do the world a favour and purchase Studio Ghibli to be part of the Disney family. You've already dubbed all the Miyazaki produced movies anyway, so, it makes complete sense to welcome it entirely to the family. It'd also be the perfect avenue for Disney Animation to go back to hand drawn and experiemnt with anime!

    • Think how well it would be in nighttime shows in the parks like World of Color, Disneyland Forever, Disney Dreams, etc.

Exactly. Star Wars was stagnant until Disney bought it. Studio Ghibli could be revived again. Imagine a collaboration with Miyazaki and Lasseter? that'd be crazy!

    • I seriously doubt Studio Ghibli would ever sell itself out like that, least of all to Disney. At the very least, they'd have some heavy contractual demands limiting how much creative influence Disney could have over them, how much merchandising would be permitted, and frankly I doubt they'd allow their stuff to be used at the parks. Miyazaki hates amusement parks, says they're bad for the environment.

And they wouldn't allow their stuff in any video games, either, after the disastrous attempts at Nausicaä arcade games in the '80s which missed the point of the movie entirely. Real shame; I'd love to have Howl or Totoro in Disney Infinity.

In that regard, I suppose you're right. However, Miyazaki's retired from Studio Ghibli. So, in technicallity, Studio Ghibli is nothing more than another Japanese animation company.

    • Think how beautiful the films of Studio Ghibli would be if it was added in World of Color: Celebrate during the Golden Age of Animation segment?

Disney could make a lineup called "The Women of Ghibli" and have various key female characters as merchandise similar to that of the Disney Princess lineup!

    • This Studio Ghilbi collection is popular enough to find at libraries which is nice. I like several of the Studio Ghilbi movies and GKids movies too.

    • Frankly, my dear. Studio Ghibli don't give Disney in America with Miyazaki 'cause he hates it. And the Disney of Japan loves France, Taiwan and Japan, he gives Studio Ghibli his love in the other countries.

You think? Studio Ghibli is off limits in U.S.A. But for good, they will holding in France and Taiwan; and, of course, some home media in Japan through Toho, Toei and Shochiku in the cinemas only.
