  • So after re-watching the film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs  I noticed something in the background that leads to an interesting question. When the Queen has made the poisoned apple and is getting in the boat to head out and give it to Snow, she passes by two skeletons.

Could those skeletons possibly be the remains of Snows parents? Could the Queen have possibly worked in the castle, killed the First Queen, then sometime after marrying the King killed him as well?

What are your thoughts? I think they are.

    • I think she killed Snow White's father, but her mother died in childbirth.

Makes sense, but then who is the second skeleton?

    • I bet that the second skeleton is the Evil Queen's first husband who the king had imprisoned for treason. After the first queen died, the king married Grimhilde, and she later had him imprisoned while he was sick and unable to rule.

    • I think they could be the skeletons of Snow's parents. I mean, it is mentioned that Snow White's mother died when Snow White was young because she got sick. But maybe the reason Snow White's mother got sick was because the Evil Queen poisoned her! She could've poisoned the First Queen in a similar way to how she did with Snow White with the poisoned apple. Considering how power-hungry she is, maybe she wanted to kill her so she could take her place as the Queen. And then, she later murdered Snow White's father.

    • The second skeleton is probably the Huntsman, she killed him after finding out that he didn't completed his task.

In the original fairy tale, yes. But the Disney version has the Queen go immediately to her lair, turn into the witch, and begin crafting the poisoned apples after learning about the Huntsman's deception. Both skeletons were already in the lair by that moment, so one of them can't be him.

I agree with you, we never heard of the Huntsman again.

Btw, I didn't expect to see you here XD

      Hey! Same with you.

    • You know, I saw a high school play of the story of Snow White on YouTube, and in this version, the Evil Queen cloaked herself, and she killed Snow White's mother by offering her a drink which turned out to be poison, afterwards using a spell to convince the King to remarry to her. And later on, she and Snow White's father have a daughter named Rose Red. Although I realize this play isn't canon in the Disney universe, we have to remember there are many versions of the story of Snow White. So anything could be possible.

He wouldn't be a skeleton by then, he'd still be fleshy. I think the second skeleton could be someone who tried to defy her at some point, but I don't doubt that the first skeleton could be the First King.

    • Yeah, you're right. Even with the magic the Evil Queen has, there's no way she could turn the huntsman into a skeleton that quickly. Personally, I still think she could've killed both the First Queen and King. Snow White's mother did die in childbirth, but it's never specified what type of illness she contracted that caused her to become sick. Besides, Snow White obviously inherited her beauty and kindness from her mother, so maybe before the Evil Queen was the ruler of the kingdom, her magic mirror told her the First Queen was fairer than her, so that incited her initial jealousy and could've driven her to try to end the First Queen's life so she could replace her as the Queen. She could've disguised herself as a castle servant, given the First Queen some type of drink, which caused her to fall ill and pass away. And then, she married the King, and subsequently killed him as well. And she would think all her enemies were out of the way, until Snow White surpassed her beauty.

The only one who could've turned Huntsman into a skeleton that quickly would be Chernabog.

    • Hmm, I didn't even think of that. You know, there's actually a theory going around that Chernabog was the one who granted the Evil Queen with her magical abilities. Anyway, if you examine most fairytales that have wicked stepmothers, their jealousy of their stepchildren is usually originated from their jealousy of their stepchildren's biological mothers. Besides, in most versions of the Snow White tale, including the Brothers Grimm story, it stated that Snow White's mother was beautiful and kind like her daughter. And she even wished for Snow White to be born. The story stated she wished for a daughter with skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair as black as the ebony wood of her window frame. This is another reason that it's possible the Evil Queen could've made Snow's mother sick out of jealousy, because that's where she inherited her beauty from.

    • It's possible, but it could have also been someone who tried to start a rebellion and was killed for it.

    • Not that your theory doesn't make much sense, but it's probably just as likely that those skeletons were just citizens who had gotten on the Queen's bad side prior to her attempts on Snow's life.

Of course, a theory is just a theory.

    • Possibly. Only one man could confirm that, and he's up in the sky with Legendary Stan Lee.

Technically according to books of the disney movie, I think they said he left the castle alive after he gave the pig heart to the queen.
