Actually it turned out that Lefou turned good in the end. He's a more sympathetic character in the new version. As the further over the line Gaston crossed, the more reluctant Lefou was to back him up. The new Lefou tries to talk Gaston out of trying to kill Maurice and then tries to guilt him into going back to rescue him from getting eaten by wolves. Also this version is more hestitant about killing the beast. Even echoing Belle's statement that the beast may not be the true monster. He's loyal but he now tries to act more like Gaston's conscience than his henchman. When Gaston stabs him the back for the last time, he realizes he's been on the wrong side and joins the beast's servants in fending off the angry mob.
Yeah, Lefou finnaly noticed that Gaston stabbed him in the back at the end during the war that took place between the inanimate characters and the angry human mob at Beast's Castle. Lefou turned to the good side and wanted to help out the Beast and the inanimate characters. He was completely fed up by the way Gaston turned out to be. Lefou was a funny yet confused and feminine character but he still seemed to have at least a lot more heart and sympathy than Gaston ever did in the live action remake. Lefou was seen dancing with a few different people at the very end during the Ball (dance party) scene.
Honestly, I really loved the way they did LeFou in the live action remake. They gave him more dimensions than he had in the animated film, so he's more three dimensional. His redemption at the climax was one of my favorite parts. As Mrs. Potts says, he's too good for Gaston.
I just wish he could be a good guy more than bad, scene he saved Mrs Potts after all.
He's great when Josh Gad played him in remake version. I hope they will able to make another Beauty and the best same as 2017, but like as "Beauty and the Beast 2". See will the Lefou and that bimbettes prove them they can be good for realize it.
The animated Lefou always stood by everything Gaston did, and took pleasure in trying to kill the more defenseless inhabitants of the castle. The live-action Lefou is quite different from that, you can tell he doesn't like the horrible things Gaston does, and only remained on Gaston's side for as long as he did coz he was in love with him.
