I read in the trivia section of Woody's Roundup that it was the answer to Buzz's Lightyear's http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/Buzz_Lightyear_of_Star_Command. Did Disney intend on doing an animated show like with Buzz Lightyear of Star Command or did they try it and didn't work out and it was scrapped in favor of Buzz Lightyear of Star Command?
They were both supposed to be TV characters first then they were both a popular toy then Woody and Buzz had trouble understanding they were both a favorite of Andy's. Woody's Roundup is also the name of a CD that has songs about Woody's western life. But Buzz Lightyear was enough of a star to earn a personal movie of himself. But now after a while it's almost like Woody and Buzz are enjoyed equally by different fans.
OK. The only reason I asked is because I was curious as to how Buzz Lightyear became so popular enough to have a film revolving around his occupation as a space ranger which resulted in a spin-off series and not Woody. I mean was Woody's western life too old-fashioned and Buzz Lightyear's life in the space era more relevant to the modern age?
That's fine user JustMeJordanW. But I love the stories of wildlife enough that I have dreams of Woody's loyalty, especially since I know he'd be gentle whether farming, mining, doing Western lifestyle things, or carefully doing his sheriff career.
Wow. I never knew you felt that way. For a minute I thought you were going to go Buzz Lightyear because of the technology and the computers and the spaceships and junk. Now back to the subject. If Disney were to turn Woody's Roundup into a film, would it have been popular enough to gain a spin-off series like Buzz Lightyear of Star Command? And if so would it have been on ABC's Disney's One Saturday Morning block along with other shows that aired at the time such as Mickey Mouse Works, Doug(the Disney version), Recess, Pepper Ann, Sabrina the Animated Series, and The Weekenders?
Quite likely Woody's included in extra CDs that are for little kids as well as how many short video he's shown in, and how many parades Woody's participated in Plus how popular his costume is already. Little Kids Teens and adult Woody's likely to have a few more fans than western show that are daily on TVLand and similar channels.
Some of my knowledge about Woody comes from how long I've volunteered libraries for fun.
Well, I was thinking that perhaps they could have done a film where Woody was the main focus like with Buzz Lightyear. He would have worked alongside Jessie and Bullseye and The Prospector would have been in charge of the western town just Buzz Lightyear worked alongside Mira, XR, and Booster and Commander Nebula was in charge of Star Command. And if it was successful, it would have gotten a spin-off show with episodes that had plots similar to Buzz Lightyear of Star Command(Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye protecting the Western town from random villains and being rewarded when the job is done)and it would have been on ABC's Disney's One Saturday Morning block along with other shows that I listed. Would that be possible?
Woody And Buzz are two leaders who could go several places whether it's work or a fun vacation. South Africa, Alaska near those like the Eskimo tribes, areas near National Parks. Bullseye he's one who'd probably enjoy seeing Central Asia states like where Ariel lives he has severl horse cousins who do similar cart / wagon work. Even Australia does similar tasks when exploring the wild.
These two motion picture heros would even look cool in moments like Buzz flying around Northern Lights and Woody racing below them, it would be a cute way to offer Jessie a lit up dance for sure. And yes they're brave and friendly enough to protect places from villain characters these two could especially work together if facts of how people consider Outer Space spiritual was studied, and using reference of movies like the Ice Age animated movies Scrat has his funny looking but adventure of true prehistoric facts.
