Doesn't anyone still remember "The Legend of the Chaos God", or "Crisis on Infinite Darkwings"? (Or even "Dangerous Currency", but that one's non-canon, unless IDW goes and reprints it in Disney Afternoon Giant.)
I know very well that Ducktales and Darkwing Duck share a continuity, but as for the ones you mentioned they were comic exclusives.
And it's only last year I found out about Don Rosa's comics on Scrooge if a friend had now shown them to me. So I haven't really been up to date with most comics in years. (I know of ReadComicsOnline but I don't know if we're allowed to talk about such sites) Eitherway I'm talking about the cameos and different apperances seen in 2017 DuckTales and I'm wondering if DuckTales is going to produce spinoffs eventually.
As much as I agree with your Forrest, while the original Ducktales established a share continuity with Darkwing Duck, in 2017 he's regarded as a TV series in Duckberg. So hard to tell if the TV series is based after an actual Darkwing Duck or just fiction-in-fiction.
Perhaps Launchpad could meet his Drake Mallard (the actor who played Darkwing), and it's revealed some of the show scripts are based on real events. An old villian rises up from the darkness, and Launchpad and Darkwing must team up to fight an epic battle-- in court, because the show used their likeness without his permission.
Bumping because I just seen the latest episode and didn't expect how it turned out at all. Very surprising twist ending as well as further proof for my Afternooniverse theory.
Ducktales is setting up these side-stories and it makes me wonder if DTA will make spin-offs from Ducktale or not and indeed make this afternooniverse expansive. (After all, Marvel prooves that it's possible with a cinematic franchise.)
I'm not sure myself which is why I made this thread to begin with.
I believe Ducktales '17 is the basis of other various stories that are shared in the universe that are different from the original series. If it was just Ducktales and Darkwing Duck I'd leave it at that as a modern "Duck universe" but other elements from other shows such as Gummi Bears and Talespin were also shown in Ducktales which is why I believe in this modern "Afternooniverse" theory.
Just found this season 2 promo poster. Further evident of my Disney Afternooniverse theory. However other than episode cameos not confirmed if Disney will actually commit to a Tailspin and Rescue Rangers reboot.
