Tico-Tico no Fubá is a Brazilian song written by Zequinha de Abreu in 1917. In Disney, an instrumental version was used in the 1942 film, Saludos Amigos in the segment Aquarela do Brasil.
Background[]
The song can be heard where José Carioca teaches Donald Duck what samba is all about. Donald then practices the beat of the samba as José takes him to the path to what the artist is drawing which leads to a café with the samba and score playing in the background. The song stops where Donald and José sit at a café and encounter a drink he sees; Donald thinks the drink he is seeing is a soda pop but it is actually a cachaça to which after tasting, Donald gets used to the samba followed by a reprise of "Aquarela do Brasil".
