Tiger Lily is a character who appears in the 2023 live-action film Peter Pan & Wendy. This version of the character plays a larger role than in the original film and is portrayed as "a fierce warrior and a serene and benevolent leader" who protects Neverland, the Lost Boys, and Neverland's visitors from Captain Hook.[1] This version is also bilingual, being able to speak both English and her native language.[1]
Role in the film[]
Tiger Lily approaches Wendy who regains her consciousness after surviving an attack from Captain Hook and his pirate crew, followed by the Lost Children following alongside her, accusing her of what she did to Peter, which Wendy recaps that she was flying with the Darling family and they were attacked by Captain Hook and his pirate crew as Wendy shows her and the Lost Children to know what John and Michael look like. Seeing John and Michael held captive by Hook and his crew, Tiger Lily follows alongside Wendy and the Lost Children into Skull Rock in a plan to rescue them. As they arrive, Tiger Lily guides Wendy and the Lost Children across Skull Rock just as they discuss with her about what Peter did to Captain Hook only for Tiger Lily to tell Wendy and the children that Hook and his crew have arrived, leading them onto a plan to rescue them.
As Peter Pan takes on Captain Hook, Tiger Lily tells Wendy and the Lost Children telling them that this is their chance in rescuing John and Michael. Just as Tinker Bell rescues John and Michael thanks to her Pixie Dust which Tinker Bell leads Peter, Wendy, John, Michael, and Tiger Lily out of Skull Rock as the Lost Boys escape Skull Rock into a hill. During a discussion with Peter, he tells Wendy and the Lost Children that nothing ever changes in Neverland just before Wendy follows alongside her brothers as well as the Lost Children, followed by Tiger Lily planning to return home. When Wendy approaches the Lost Children's Hideout, Tiger Lily tells Wendy to remember a saying what her great-grandmother taught her, telling her to hold the past in her heart and know that where she goes from here, it's up to her just before Tiger Lily returns to her tribe.
Learning of Peter Pan who fell down from high below at the Lost Children's Hideout, Peter's shadow runs past the Indian Camp where Tiger Lily is at, alerting her of what happened to Peter. She then rides on her horse to follow Peter's shadow to the spot where Peter Pan is at which Tiger Lily approaches an unconscious Peter who brings him back to life. As Peter learns of what happened to Tinker Bell and the Lost Children and then realizes that he cannot fly without Tinker Bell who gives him Pixie Dust, Tiger Lily shows Peter an alternate route to get to Captain Hook and rescue Tinker Bell.
Suddenly, Tiger Lily rides on her horse to take Peter to the spot where Hook is at which Peter suddenly arrives onboard Hook's floating ship due to the Pixie Dust effect applied by Tinker Bell. Furthermore, Tiger Lily takes part during the battle against Hook's crew where she climbs onboard the ship fighting off Hook's crew. Later when Wendy turns the wheel while telling everyone to hang onto the ship as the pirate crew falls into the ocean, Tiger Lily suddenly escapes from the ship being tilted. After Captain Hook and his crew are defeated in battle, Tiger Lily bids a farewell to Peter and his friends as Peter, Wendy, John, Michael, Tinker Bell, and the Lost Children sail back to London.
