"To Kilimanjaro Bird" is an episode from The Lion King's Timon & Pumbaa. It is also one of the episode in Dining Out with Timon & Pumbaa.
Synopsis
In retribution for stealing Baby Earl's bug breakfast, Timon and Pumbaa are forced by Earl's mother to babysit him while she goes for more bugs. They soon realize that Earl is more than a handful to look after.
Plot
"To Kilimanjaro Bird" begins by introducing Timon, a meerkat, and Pumbaa, a warthog. The episode starts with Timon and Pumbaa eating bugs out of a bowl. Pumbaa compliments Timon about how great he is at catching bugs. When Timon is about to take another bite of the bugs, a mother eagle grabs Timon and shouts at him saying that he stole her baby Earl's bugs. Timon denies it and says that she needs proof that he really stole the bugs. The mother eagle shows him proofs that Timon stole the bugs, but the meerkat still denies it until the eagle shows him a picture of him stealing the bugs. Pumbaa then sees that Timon stole the bugs and gets angry at him. Pumbaa and the mother eagle complain that the eagle now has to go get some bugs and they suggest that Timon will babysit Earl. At the nest, the mother eagle warns Timon that if Earl gets a scratch, she will crush the meerkat. When the mother eagle takes off, Timon wants to leave, but Pumbaa wants Timon to play a game with Earl, read a book to him, and tuck him into bed for some afternoon nap. Timon does everything Pumbaa suggested and then decides for him and the warthog to leave.
Timon and Pumbaa see Baby Earl jump out of the nest to try to fly. The two quickly run back to the nest and Timon catches Earl. Timon tells the baby to never do what he just did again. Baby Earl nods, but jumps out of the nest again, and Timon catches him again. Timon tells Earl the same thing, Earl nods again, but jumps out of the nest. Timon catches Earl again, but this time the meerkat falls too, and Pumbaa quickly catches Timon by biting him by the tail. Pumbaa then suggests that he and Timon stay to watch Earl, but Timon has another suggestion. Timon decides to show Earl Reverse Psychology, he tells the baby that he really wants him to jump out of the nest, but Earl doesn't understand Reverse Psychology and jumps out of the nest.
Timon and Pumbaa see Earl and quickly run to the nest and the baby lands on part of Mount Kilimanjaro. Baby Earl goes on his way back up to the nest while Timon and Pumbaa go rescue him from all the obstacles. When Earl gets back to the nest, Timon and Pumbaa are tired from all the rescuing, but Earl jumps out of the nest again. Timon suggests that he and Pumbaa do nothing and tells Pumbaa that the wind will make Baby Earl fly back to the nest. It turns out Timon was wrong, and Earl lands offscreen, and with Timon and Pumbaa's shocked faces, it is apparent that the baby gets scratched.
Timon and Pumbaa run into the mother eagle and the eagle asks the two where her baby is. Timon wants Pumbaa to tell the mother eagle what happened to Earl besides the fact that the baby jumped out of the nest and got scratched. But Pumbaa tells the mother eagle the truth and the mother eagle is about to hurt Timon and Pumbaa with a club. Then, Baby Earl flies up to the nest with crutches on his winds. The mother eagle, Timon, and Pumbaa are surprised to see the baby fly. The mother eagle thinks Timon and Pumbaa taught Earl how to fly and she repays the two by giving them some of the bugs she bought.
