Thomas William "Tom" Selleck is an American actor and film producer, who is best known for his role as Thomas Magnum in the CBS crime drama series Magnum, P.I. from 1980 to 1988 and currently stars as Police Commissioner Francis "Frank" Reagan in the CBS police procedural drama series Blue Bloods since 2010.
For Disney, he voiced the adult Cornelius Robinson in the 2007 Disney animated feature film Meet the Robinsons (where he was the basis for a joke at one point). He also played Peter Mitchell in the 1987 Touchstone Pictures film Three Men and a Baby and its 1990 sequel and James Rainwood in the 1989 Touchstone Pictures film An Innocent Man. Additionally, he was mentioned in ABC's The Muppets.

Trivia[]
- Selleck was originally cast as Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark by Steven Spielberg, as George Lucas did not want to give the role to Harrison Ford due to his past collaborations in the past. However, CBS obliged him to pass the role due to his contract, and Ford was finally cast instead.[1] Oddly, the pilot of Magnum, P.I. was delayed from March 1980 to December of that year, which would have allowed Selleck to film Raiders between June and August of that same year in Tunisia and later return to the United States to film Magnum, P.I.
- The image of Tom Selleck in the scene when Wilbur Robinson was quizzing Lewis on the Robinson Family members was taken from when Selleck starring in Magnum P.I. in the 1980s.
- Dale's design from Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers, which consists of the character wearing a red and yellow Hawaiian shirt, is inspired by that of Selleck's portrayal of Thomas Magnum from the original 1980 Magnum, P.I. series.
