Tryon later turned to film work and began to appear in films, like The Scarlet Hour, Screaming Eagles, Three Violent People, The Unholy Wife, I Married a Monster from Outer Space, The Story of Ruth, The Longest Day, In Harm's Way, The Glory Guys, and The Cardinal, where he received a nomination for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama.
