Flora approaches Tootie Tickham who is worried that her robot, the Ulysses 2000, is malfunctioning, just as she attempts to stop the robot from causing more havoc in her lawn while Flora's mother is writing a story using her typewriter. Just as she and Flora attempt to stop the Ulysses 2000, it rams into a tree where a squirrel is storing his nuts, knocking him off the tree. During the chase, the robot suddenly vacuums up the squirrel, causing it to stop. Tootie notices Flora saving the squirrel's life, which he stares at both of them just before Tootie's husband approaches her, telling her if she turned on the Ulysses 2000 again. Flora names the squirrel "Ulysses", naming him after the robot that Tootie tried to stop.
Tootie later approaches her neighbor Flora who surprises Phyllis, showing her a plate of pastries which she calls them "Tootie Turnovers" just before she introduces Flora her nephew William Spiver, explaining to Phyllis that her nephew suffers from blindness caused by stress, which the conversation becomes interrupted when Phyllis sees Ulysses in the house. She does not appear again throughout the rest of the film, although her nephew William continues to have a prominent role throughout the film.
Trivia[]
- During the part where Tootie rings the doorbell on the Buckman family's house, the chimes heard are the bars from the famous Star Wars score, "The Imperial March".
- In that same scene where Tootie tells Phyllis, "Friendly neighbor here", this is a possible reference to Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
- Tootie's actress, Nancy Robertson, is also Canadian as well, where the film is set.
- During the scene where Tootie's husband asks her if she turned on the Ulysses 2000, he explains to her that he must have spilled some Froot Loops. Due to the fact that the film is set in Canada, it is likely that Tootie's husband is referring to the Canadian Froot Loops rather than the American Froot Loops.
