Toy Story: Smash It! was a video game inspired by the Disney/Pixar Toy Story franchise.
The game was discontinued from the App Store at an unknown date with Episode 6 being the last episode released in the game with Version 1.2.2 being the last version released.
Gameplay
Throughout the game, the player assumed the role of Buzz Lightyear, one of the main characters from the franchise, into helping him throwing balls to knock down the Aliens to score points. Along the way, players were also able to collect golden blocks spelling "T-O-Y" for extra points. Also throughout the game, players were also able to control Buzz by moving left or right to get a better view of hitting the targets to knock down the Aliens. After clearing each level, stars which are required to unlock new episodes were given to the player depending on how well the player scored (similar to other games such as Angry Birds or other similar game titles that have three stars). The number of stars earned throughout each game depended on how well the player performed such as the number of balls used throughout the game as well as the golden blocks collected throughout the game after knocking down all the Aliens in each level. During the results screen, Rex would show up giving tips to the player on how to improve their score to get three stars to unlock new episodes faster upon replaying levels again such as finding ways to get the three golden blocks with either only balls or through falling blocks or completing levels with the least amount of balls used.
As the player advanced throughout the game, various obstacles would later be encountered throughout the game such as new variants of blocks and other obstacles which make the game a bit more challenging. Additionally, achievements were also unlocked throughout the game where players had to complete a number of different tasks to unlock achievements.
Episodes
Upon playing the game, players would start at the "Zurg's Return" episode which was the first episode unlocked. Other episodes could only be unlocked when the player collected enough stars in previous levels which depended on how many points the player scored or through the use of real-world money via in-app purchases.
