"Toys in Space" is the one hundred twenty-third episode of Doc McStuffins. It premiered on January 4, 2019, and is the fourth episode in the fifth season.
Fifteen minutes remain until a rocket launches to the Mystery Planet. Luna is ready for her pre-flight checkup, and everything looks good. Doc tells her to take a minute to make sure she has everything she needs for the trip. Luna has everything except her robot dog, Liv, who is her co-pilot on the mission. Luna begins to search for Liv when ten minutes remain until the rocket launches. Doc decides to call the Pet Rescue Team to report to the rocket launch pad. Once the team arrives, Doc tells her about Liv missing. With eight minutes remaining, the team searches for the dog.
It doesn't take long for Chilly to find Liv. However, Chilly trips on a pipe, causing Liv to run away and part of the rocket's right wing to break. Chilly states he broke the whole mission and decides for Stuffy to go, as he's making things worse. Stuffy wonders what's going on, and Chilly tells everything. First, Stuffy puts the rocket back together with dragon strength. Chilly decides not to rescue Liv before mentioning what he is afraid of. He states he's not a good pet rescuer, but Stuffy tells him that nothing is that scary at all. This motivates Chilly, who continues searching for Liv.
It doesn't take long for Chilly to find Liv inside the rocket. As Chilly tells everyone that he found Liv, he accidentally presses a button that initiates the rocket's blast-off sequence. Doc and Luna immediately realize this. Since nothing can be done to stop the launch, Chilly and Liv can't get out. The toys then head into the control center before the rocket launches. Doc and Luna tell them everything. Luna states that the computerized telemetry of the spacecraft is preprogrammed, meaning it's automatically going to the Mystery Planet. Liv is fully trained for the mission, although she's only a co-pilot. The Pet Rescue Team decide to get Chilly and Liv home safely, although it is farther away than their usual rescue. Stuffy discusses his plan about ladders when Luna comes up with an idea of talking to Chilly on the spaceship's radio and guide him through what he has to do in order to land safely on the planet.
Doc tries to contact Toyager One, and Chilly can hear them. Doc reassures him that everything will be okay, as his friends are all here. Luna will guide him through what he needs to do to get home safe. Chilly takes a deep breath but panics, and Doc tells him to stay calm. Luna guides Chilly to jettison the retro boosters by pressing the big blue button, fire the navigation thrusters by pulling the short lever to Chilly's left instead of the long lever, which would send the rocket into a loop-de-loop, but Chilly pulls the latter. Liv then pulls the other levers to activate the navigation thrusters. Chilly states he had a lot of help. He sees his hat floating, and Luna states that Chilly is in outer space. He unstraps himself, leaving him floating when visual contact with the ship gets established. Chilly is scared about the zero gravity, but Doc tells him that just because he doesn't know anything about space doesn't mean it's scary. The more Chilly learns about it, the less scary it'll be. Doc and the toys reassure Chilly that everything will be fine and that it's a great day for a cool rescue in space. Chilly eventually likes it, and he soon passes through the Marbleoid Belt. Liv engages the marble deflector to push the marbles out of the Toyager One's path. It then passes through the Mystery Planet's rings, and Chilly states that there's no reason to be scared of space, as it's really not all that different from McStuffinsville. With two minutes until the rocket lands, Chilly gets motivated by everyone, and he and Liv decides land the ship together. Chilly controls the ship's direction while Liv fires the landing rockets to slow it down.
Chilly and Liv are doing a great job so far, although Chilly can't keep the lever steady. With thirty seconds until the ship lands, Liv fires the landing rockets, and eventually, the ship lands safely. The toys are proud of him, and Doc tells him that he's on the Mystery Planet. Chilly will stay where he is while Doc and the toys rescue him. They decide to assemble Luna's spare rocket ship kit before Doc tells Chilly that there's nothing to worry about and that he will be rescued.
Doc and the toys assemble the ship so that it's ready for blast off. Doc and the toys suit up and head into space. Meanwhile, Chilly is sleeping when Liv escapes the rocket again. She then meets two aliens and while retreating, one of her screws falls off. She then falls into a lake of marbles. Chilly informs Doc and the toys about this. Luna states that Liv is probably carrying out her mission to explore the planet. Chilly also informs them about the alien toys. Although Doc and the toys motivate him, Chilly is still scared and states he's not cut out to be a pet rescuer when the wire connecting the microphone to the ship breaks, losing the feed. Doc and the toys decide to stay calm and blast off themselves.
Meanwhile, Chilly eventually calms down and decides to rescue Liv himself. He starts by bouncing uncontrollably, and makes it to where Liv disappeared. He finds the missing screw and wonders where it came from. He falls into the same lake Liv fell into, and heads down a slide leading to under the planet. Chilly then encounters the toy aliens and finds Liv. Chilly realizes that the aliens are friendly, and the aliens show what happened to Liv. Chilly realizes that Liv lost her wheel. Chilly states that Liv has a case of the scaredy-wheel dropsies. Chilly reattaches the wheel with the bolt that fell off, making her back to normal.
Doc and the toys then arrive at the Mystery Planet when Chilly arrives with Liv and the toy aliens. The toy aliens show what happened, and the toys praise Chilly for the rescue. Doc tells him that he'll always be a very important part of the team, no matter what. Chilly introduces the toy aliens to Doc, the Pet Rescue Team, and Luna. Chilly also calls the aliens the Gorks, and Luna brings them greetings from McStuffinsville. Doc and the toys decide to head back, although Chilly likes it in space. The Gorks are inviting everyone to stay for a welcome party, and everyone bounces around.
