"Training Wings" is the second segment of the fifty-third episode of Vampirina. It is the second half of the third episode in the third season. It premiered on October 7, 2020.
Synopsis[]
Vee gets the battys after crash landing during a bicycle lesson.
Plot[]
The Hauntleys meet up with Poppy and Bridget, who are riding bikes. Vampirina likes them, and Poppy mentions that she and Bridget are getting ready for the Penn-cycle-vania festival this weekend, where they ride their bikes together. Vampirina likes it, and Oxana and Boris accept, but Oxana mentions that Vampirina doesn't know how to ride a human bike. Also, there are no brooms allowed, and Poppy and Bridget offer to teach Vampirina how to ride a human bike, to which she accepts. Since Oxana and Boris have to get ready for their new guests at the Scare B&B, Demi and Gregoria will accompany Vampirina.
Vampirina decides on a bike, and Demi makes it spooky-looking. He mentions that riding a bike has been a dream of his. Gregoria then arrives with padding, and she is going to watch. Vampirina, Poppy, and Bridget review the safety procedures before riding their bikes. However, Vampirina thinks she doesn't need training wheels, and removes them, despite Poppy and Bridget's suggestions. However, Vampirina forgets to pedal, and crashes into a bush. She's ready to try again, and Poppy suggests taking it slow, but Vampirina pedals too fast, and turns into a bat before the bike crashes into a trash can.
Vampirina wonders what else she can do, and Bridget mentions that it only works if she starts slow. Demi will run with Vampirina. Poppy tells Vampirina to start slow, and so far, she is doing a great job. She speeds up, and as a result, she goes out of control and the bike crashes again. Vampirina wonders how she is having trouble riding a human bike, and Poppy tells her that it takes time to get the hang of it. Later, Vampirina brings a spell book and decides to enchant her bike so she can ride it, despite everyone's protests.
Vampirina then recites the spell to enchant the bike, but it starts to fly. Demi shows up, and when Vampirina sees Edna, she steers the bike out of her sight. Eventually, the spell wears off, and Demi helps Vampirina to the ground safely. Bridget decides to try something else, but Vampirina assumes that riding a bike isn't for her, and decides not to go to the festival. Vampirina is not used to flying on the ground, but Poppy decides on an idea.
The next day, Poppy and Bridget have their bikes, and reveals that they fixed Vampirina's bike with something that might make it easier for her to ride: training wings. Vampirina loves them already, and Poppy and Bridget tell her that everyone learns at a different pace, what matters it that Vampirina tries, and that it takes time to get good at something. Eventually, Vampirina learns how to ride a bike, and thanks Poppy and Bridget for teaching her to take it slow and learn at her own pace. They then head to the Penn-cycle-vania festival, where they ride their bikes. After doing so across the whole neighborhood, Vampirina states that the festival was spooktacular, thanks to Poppy and Bridget. Edna shows up, having witnessed a bike that looked like it was riding by itself. Turns out, Demi was the one riding it.
