Travis is a major character in Disney's 2023 film Haunted Mansion, based on the ride of the same name.
Background[]
Travis is a young African-American boy who moves with his mother Gabbie to the city of New Orleans after his father's death. He is having trouble making friends at school. When Travis moved into a mansion with his mother, they found out that it is haunted, leading her to hire Ben Matthias, followed by Harriet, Father Kent, and Bruce Davis who help them along the way.
Physical appearance[]
Travis is a nine-year old African-American boy with fair skin, black hair, and hazel eyes. He is mostly seen wearing dress shirts with either a tie or pin, a pair of jeans, and a dark shoes. He sometimes wears a coat over his outfits even when going to school or other places.
After Crump's defeat, Travis starts wearing typical clothing for a child his age such as a shirt and jeans, signifying him moving on from his father's death.
Role in the film[]
Travis first appears arriving at the Gracey Mansion with his mother, Gabbie. When entering the mansion, Travis quickly becomes uneasy due to hearing voices and whispers throughout the hallway. While trying to get settled into the mansion, Travis gets creeped out by a painting of Constance Hatchaway where her ghost scares him when she reveals herself to him. Travis tries to tell his mother, but Gabbie doesn't believe him until she encounters the Haunted Armor when it appears behind Travis. This causes Travis and his mother to leave, but several of ghosts from the mansion follow them and no matter how far away Travis and Gabbie went, they were eventually forced by the ghosts to return to the mansion.
