"Trivia Night" is the first segment of the sixty-sixth episode of Big City Greens.
Synopsis[]
Cricket wants to prove to his family that he isn't dumb during trivia night at the café.
Plot[]
It is Trivia Night at the Gloria + Green Café with the Greens and many of their friends all there to participate. The Greens feel that they have a shoe in to win as they all have extensive knowledge in various categories (Bill with science, Tilly with literature, Gramma Alice with history, and Nancy with music), except for Cricket who does not seem to have anything that he is smart at. He claims that geography is his strong suit, though he apparently to confuse it for geometry. He gets his question wrong (What is the capital of Mexico? - Cricket's answer: M) and loses it to Remy. The Greens give him the task of being the button pusher and Cricket decides to venture into his brain to find "[his] smarts".
Cricket's brain is occupied with versions of himself who run all of his functions. He is directed to the knowledge and encounters factoids; two new ones of which are "M is not the capital of Mexico" and "Remy knows the capital of Mexico". He meets his oldest factoid "Dogs can't spit" or Spitty who takes Cricket deep into the bowels of his brain to find his most important knowledge. Along the way, Cricket recalls various other factoids such as "Coffee foam doesn't fill you up", "The word 'relish' always calms Phoenix down" and "Corkboard ain't that bad". He manages to find his real facts, but they are only "Antarctica is cold" and "14 - 6 = 8".
Cricket returns to reality where his family have been losing. He solemnly is about to leave, but when Alice makes a crack about Mr. Grigorian, he tosses his buzzer which bounces off the walls and hits the coffee maker; causing the whole café to get flooded with foam and locking everyone in. Cricket suddenly remembers his facts and has everyone eat the foam, calms Brett's dogs with the word "relish", and has Russell toss him towards a corkboard to save everyone. Cricket saves the day, revealing that he is smart. Gloria reveals that the final bonus question was "name an animal that cannot spit", to which Cricket happily answers a dog, much to the Greens and Cricket's brains sensors' joy.
