"Troubles Wubbington" is the second segment of the fifty-fifth episode of the Disney Channel animated series Kiff.
Synopsis[]
Kiff helps Chubbles find a new job.
Plot[]
In the backyard of their home, Beryl and Kiff celebrate Father's Day with Martin. For her gift, Kiff gives Martin a "jaw chewer", a device that, according to the salesman she bought it from, can be used to tone the jaw. After just two minutes of chewing on the device, Martin ends up with a perfectly-toned jaw. He tests the strength of his jaw with several exercises, including flinging a lawn chair into the air with only his teeth.
The chair flies over the Chatterleys' fence and lands in a field. Roy Fox drives past the field and takes a call from Kenny, who informs him that Chubbles Wubbington wants another million nuts to star in Roy's latest film Jaw & Order. While complaining about Chubbles' expensive salary demands, Roy passes the Chatterley residence and sees Martin gripping a hose with his teeth while watering the front lawn. Amazed, Roy decides to cast Martin in the movie instead. Roy takes Martin and Kiff to Table Town Studios and kicks Chubbles out of his trailer, throwing out his belongings and pushing the couch he is sitting on all the way to the curb outside the studio premises.
Feeling bad for having inadvertently caused Chubbles to lose his job, Kiff decides to help Chubbles get back on his feet. She keeps him company in his mother's house, which he has moved back into, and scours the want ads for potential jobs for him. Meanwhile, a depressed Chubbles watches himself on an old episode of Yes! Ancestor about his family history, in which he explains how he broke from family tradition by becoming an actor instead of a mail carrier. At Kiff's suggestion, Chubbles decides to pursue a new career as a "mailman-box".
After seeing off Chubbles on his first day of work as a mailman, Kiff drops by Table Town Studios to visit Martin on the Jaw & Order set. Witnessing Martin have an outburst over being given a bottle of plain water instead of sparkling water, then another one over being asked to memorize his lines, Kiff is surprised to find that becoming a leading man has turned her father into a "real diva". Meanwhile, Chubbles walks through downtown Table Town on his mail route, happily interacting with the people he encounters. Kiff later visits Chubbles at the Table Town Post Office, and he tells her that he is enjoying his new life as an average citizen. However, Chubbles' boss is displeased to learn that Chubbles spent his entire day walking and neglected to actually deliver any mail, and she fires him on the spot.
Outside the post office, Kiff consoles Chubbles, who admits that he still misses acting and was only pretending to be happy about his new life. Hearing this, Kiff accepts that acting really is Chubbles' true calling. Procuring a boombox, she tells Chubbles that she can sing a song for Roy to convince him to change his mind, noting that she has "done this before". Kiff and Chubbles head to the Jaw & Order set and find Roy, but before Kiff can perform her song for him, she discovers that the boombox's batteries are dead. After obtaining new batteries, she is able to turn on the boombox, but just as she is about to start singing, the boombox is suddenly hit by a potato thrown by Martin and destroyed.
Everyone assumes that Martin is throwing another ego-fueled tantrum, but it turns out that he is melting down because his jaw has returned to its original flabby state. Martin explains that his jaw chewer broke and the replacement he ordered never arrived in the mail, leaving him unable to retone his jaw. Roy is left with no choice but to fire Martin, not only because of his jaw, but also because his "obsession with sparkling water is bankrupting the studio". Martin quickly gets over his firing and leaves with Kiff. Before leaving, Kiff reminds Roy that the star he needs for the movie has "been right in front of you this whole time."
Roy turns to Chubbles and apologizes for replacing him, while Chubbles apologizes for his own behavior and offers to take a reduced salary of half a million nuts, plus Roy's car. Roy agrees and also admits that he was actually responsible for breaking Martin's jaw chewer. Roy and Chubbles then celebrate by dancing in a circle, while the rest of the Jaw & Order cast and crew look on, confused. Jaw & Order is eventually completed, with all of Martin's lines being redubbed by Chubbles and Chubbles' face being sloppily superimposed on Martin's body in every scene. Kiff, Barry, Martin, Roy, and Chubbles watch the finished film together at the Table Town Mall cinema.
