Tucker is a character from the 1993 Disney educational animation short Recycle Rex.
Background[]
Personality[]
Tucker is shown to be good friends with a group of dinosaur children Rex makes along the way. Everywhere Rex leads them, Tucker and the other follow to where he goes, especially when it comes to them trying to find a solution in keeping the Earth clean. Most of the time, Tucker often holds his book titled "The Book of Everything", a book that provides knowledge to Rex and his friends. When Rex and his friends arrived at the big city at the Dino Store and realizes the importance of recycling, this inspires Tucker and his friends to help recycle and keep the planet clean, showing that he shows good citizenship in taking care of the planet through the recycling method.
Physical appearance[]
Tucker is a slender dinosaur (supposedly resembling a theropod or dromaeosaurid) with red skin around his body. He also wears a pair of eyeglasses located on the top of his head as well as a pair of brown shoes.
Role in the short[]
Tucker is first seen with his friends Ethel, Edsel, and the rest of Rex's friends narrating about the field they are standing on, while Turbo tells him that he would play soccer. After Ethel makes a positive comment about the field being green and perfect, Tucker tells his friends that he would use his Book of Everything to suggest a good name for the field they are present, much to Knock and Ping's jealousness, just before being approached by an engineer riding his Trash-o-Matic dumping garbage on the field. After the engineer leaves with all the trash scattered, he looks on his book's entry of garbage containing the phrase "Close the loop" - a term for recycling which Bunsen did while Turbo was trying to think of what this phrase means. This, however, inspires Rex and his friends to take out the trash without throwing it away so that the engineer won't have to start dumping the trash on the field, suggesting his friends to find some place in town where they can get rid of the trash.
As Rex and his friends arrive at the big city, Tucker, Edsel, and Ethel follow Turbo inside the Dino Store, much to Rex's worry of telling his team to stay focused. As Turbo tries a free sample, she offers Tucker and Edsel to try the free samples, much to Turbo feeling overwhelmed of the junk received. Rex happily notices Ethel that when she reuses the bottle of shampoo, it causes less garbage from being littered, reminding him of the field Rex and his friends hang out.
Later, as Rex and his friends are having a problem with the garbage they have, Tucker is discussing with Turbo about a solution to get rid of the garbage, which Rex realizes that the bottle he is holding is recyclable that they should learn how to reuse, especially with all the junk. Rex then uses the bottle as a telescope and sees the same symbol resembling the one on the bottle on an electronic sign on a building. Rex then borrows Tucker's book (unaware that he is still discussing with Turbo) and reads the definition of the word "recycle", leading Rex and his friends to recycle. Tucker then participates in the musical sequence "Close the Loop", where Rex teaches his friends the importance of recycling. He is last seen at the baseball field with the rest of Rex's friends playing baseball just before Rose encourages them the importance of recycling so that they can help clean the Earth.
