Tundratown is a district for polar mammals in the city of Zootopia from the 2016 Disney animated film, Zootopia.
Layout[]
Built on the opposite side of Sahara Square's climate wall, Tundratown generates cold weather to cater to the mammals who thrive in such an environment. Due to the entire district (including the buildings) being made of ice, transportation vehicles are designed with skis or tracks to maneuver the slippery landscape. Tundratown also enables access to winter sports, including skiing, snowboarding, or skidoo, and is covered in frozen lakes that double as mobile transport for mammals via floating ice caps.

Trivia[]
- Elsa's signature snowflake from the movie Frozen can be seen throughout the district. In addition, two baby elephants dressed to resemble a young Anna and Elsa are seen on the train ride Judy takes when she enters the city of Zootopia for the first time.
- The railroad bridge over Tundratown is likely inspired by the Tunkhannock Viaduct, a concrete deck arch bridge that spans the Tunkhannock Creek in Nicholson, Pennsylvania, in the United States.
- One of the buildings in Tundratown happens to be Saint Basil's Cathedral, except more in a glacier and icy theme. Hint: It's located near one of the restaurants in Tundratown: Chill Out.
- With reptiles like Gary De'Snake and Jesús being cold-blooded creatures, Tundratown would not be an ideal district for them due to them having the conditional requirement to acquire their body heat by moving to warm environments. This is evident in Gary slowing down and freezing when Nick and Judy are running from the police in the teaser trailer, which references a process in which cold-blooded creatures like reptiles and amphibians slow themselves down and rest during cold seasons to conserve their energy called brumation.
