"Unfair Getaway" is the second segment of the thirty-ninth episode of Miles from Tomorrowland. It premiered on October 8, 2016 alongside "The Galactic Fair", and is the second segment of the ninth episode in the second season.

Plot[]

The Cosmic Explorers are riding their mini-vehicles. Miles tells Blodger, Mirandos, and Haruna to do one more loop-de-loop, which the Cosmic Explorers do. Miles reaffirms the Cosmic Explorers that they're ready to do their show. Haruna thinks that when it comes to precision rocketing, they rule. Blodger thinks that the Cosmic Explorers will be the stars of the Galactic Fair, but Mirandos says that the young inventors will be the stars, as the Cosmic Explorers are the opening act. Miles says that Loretta is down in a pavilion entering her own invention for the Young Inventors Contest.

Loretta, Phoebe, and Leo look at the different inventions, like a spider-bot, a flash freeze-ray, and a Booster Bite maker, which Leo assumes that M.E.R.C. will like. Loretta then tests her invention; she opens up her backpack to reveal that it is also a lab, which she calls the Pack Lab. As Loretta goes through its functions, a panel collapses. While everyone goes to see the rocket show, Loretta decides to stay in the pavilion to fix the lab.

While everyone leaves, Gadfly, who is hiding under a model horse, is impressed with all of the inventions, and wants them all for himself.

Admirals Watson and Crick welcome everyone to another day at the Galactic Fair, as well as the Young Inventors Pavilion. Crick shows Watson his own invention; the Privacy Pouch (which is actually a bag), perfect for when Crick wants some alone time. The Admirals open the pavilion with the Cosmic Explorers performing a precision rocket show.

Blodger, Mirandos, and Haruna are reaffirmed by Miles that they'll do a good job if they do it like they practiced. The rocket show then begins, and the vehicles form different formations, impressing the crowd. While Loretta continues her work at the lab, Gadfly activates three goons, and welcomes them to the Young Inventors Pavilion. They decide to make off with the pavilion itself, since it has its own rocket engines. Gadfly thinks no one will notice because they're busy watching the rocket show. Gadfly decides to head town to the control room to swipe the pavilion while the goons press a remote button to lock the Tethoscape's doors, so no one can come after them.

After the rocket show ends, Miles tells the Cosmic Explorers to dock the ships and get to the Young Inventor's Pavilion. There, after being asked by Gadfly, the goons seal the doors, and everyone notices it. Gadfly then makes off with the pavilion just as Loretta fixes the pack lab, and Loretta informs Leo and Phoebe of such. Phoebe tells Miles the same thing, and also tells him that the Admirals are calling the SpaceGuard, but the pavilion may be gone before they arrive. Loretta tells Miles that she'll let him in through the main hatchway. Leo tells Miles to remember cosmic explorer rule #9. Miles thinks it is to not pitch your tent on a lunar and hill, but Loretta says that that is rule #8, and rule #9 is to proceed with caution, in other words, be careful.

Miles informs the Cosmic Explorers about Gadfly stealing the Young Inventor's Pavilion with Loretta inside. Miles decides for him, Blodger, Haruna, and Mirandos to work together to take back the pavilion. They then head towards the pavilion, and use their hard-light tethers to connect to the pavilion. The Cosmic Explorers then use the tethers to make their way into the pavilion. Haruna suggests using a heat ray, but Loretta opens the hatch inside.

Once Loretta meets up with the Cosmic Explorers, she tells them that Gadfly's goons are in the upper floor while Gadfly is in the cockpit in the lower level. Mirandos says that first up, the Cosmic Explorers need to deactivate the goons. Miles decides for them to do so by using whatever's around, like the inventions. The Cosmic Explorers then spread out.

Gadfly tries to make the pavilion go faster, but accidentally makes contact with Lieutenant Luminix, who orders Gadfly to power down the engines immediately. Gadfly decides to head towards the Canarian Asteroid field before blocking communications.

Mirandos then chases the goons while Haruna deactivates one with the Spider-Bot. Blodger distracts another goon while Miles deactivates him with the flash freeze-ray. Miles distracts the other goon while M.E.R.C. deactivates the goon with a Booster Bite from the Booster Bite maker. Gadfly then appears, and Miles questions him how he could steal from a bunch of kids. Gadfly says that it is with amazing skill and a total lack of conscience. He then gets a new invention, which is Blodger's, but it needs a little more work. Gadfly decides to escape, but Loretta decides to use her Pack Lab to trap Gadfly. Phoebe then calls, and Miles reassures him that the Cosmic Explorers are all right. Gadfly, on the other hand, likes a second opinion.

The judges then announce that the winner of the Young Inventors Contest is Loretta for her Pack Lab. Crick says that it is almost as good as his Pack Lab. Leo decides to take the Cosmic Explorers for some rides. M.E.R.C., meanwhile, would rather play with the Booster Bite Maker.
