An untitled Lion King log flume ride was announced for Disney Adventure World. It will be the first ride themed around the 1994Disney animated feature film The Lion King as well as the first ride themed after the franchise.
History[]
On August 10, 2024, it was announced that a Lion King-themed land would be coming to Disneyland Paris as part of Walt Disney Studios Park being reimagined into Disney Adventure World. Amongst one of the attractions announced was a Lion King-themed log flume ride being announced for the park as part of the franchise's 30th anniversary. It was also revealed that the ride itself would have a similar function to the classic log flume ride Splash Mountain, albeit themed after Pride Rock instead of a tree stump as well as a completely different layout of the attraction.[1] It was also revealed that the ride would have a storyline centered around Simba and his journey through the Circle of Life from cub to adult and later king of the Pride Lands. In addition to this, it was also revealed that Mufasa, Timon, and Pumbaa would appear in addition to Rafiki and Zazu as indicated in the concept art - albeit reminiscent of the 2019remake.[2]
Attraction summary[]
The ride will serve as a water attraction taking guests on a journey across the African savanna set in the Pride Lands following Simba on his journey to the Circle of Life from cub to adult and later becoming the king of Pride Rock throughout his adventures within the ride. In addition to Simba appearing in the ride, guests will encounter other iconic characters from the ride such as Mufasa, Timon, and Pumbaa, as they travel across the African landscape in the Pride Lands within the journey.
