Untitled Taika Waititi Film is an upcoming untitled Star Wars film by Lucasfilm. It will be released in late 2023.

Premise

A brand-new Star Wars feature with acclaimed filmmaker and Academy Award-winner Taika Waititi is in development. “Taika’s approach to Star Wars will be fresh, unexpected, and unique,” said Kennedy. “His enormous talent and sense of humor will ensure that audiences are in for an unforgettable ride.”

Production

Development

On January, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Taika Waititi was approached for a Star Wars movie. It was announced on May 4, 2020.

On May 27, 2022, in an interview with Total Film, Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that the film would be released in late 2023.
