Kiff and Barry try to stay awake until 4 a.m. to see a very special comet.
Plot[]
Kiff and Barry are having a sleepover at the Chatterley residence on a Friday night. While watching the nightly news with Beryl and Martin, they learn that Snaily's Comet, which only appears once every 500 years, will be visible over Table Town for one minute at 4:00 a.m. in the coming morning. Beryl and Martin agree to let Kiff and Barry stay up until 4:00 a.m. to see the comet.
After doing numerous activities around the house to keep themselves occupied while waiting for the comet, Kiff and Barry see that it is 10:47 p.m., meaning only 17 minutes have passed. Kiff is then reminded of Peddlers of Patio Prairie, a board game that Martin and Pat once tried to get her to play, and she proposes playing it, knowing that the game typically takes awhile to finish due to its complicated mechanics. However, she and Barry end up tiring themselves out simply trying to set up the board and read the instructions. The two sit on the couch for a break and nearly fall asleep, but Kiff manages to jolt herself and Barry back awake.
Next, Kiff and Barry tell spooky stories to each other in the dark in the kitchen to scare themselves into staying up, but even the appearance of an actual ghost fails to quell their sleepiness. The duo decide that the comet is not worth staying up for, with Kiff further positing that at the rate science is currently progressing, they will eventually be able to extend their lifespans long enough to see the comet in 500 years. While walking upstairs to go to bed, Kiff accidentally steps on the TV remote, turning the TV on to the news. Sally, somehow addressing Kiff and Barry directly, reports that the comet has released a statement saying that its forthcoming visit will be its final one before it retires to the Klaxar-5 nebula.
Determined not to miss their only chance to see the comet, Kiff and Barry return to the kitchen and build an elaborate Rube Goldberg machine that sprays water on their faces every few seconds, waking them up anytime they fall asleep. When its water supply eventually runs out, Kiff and Barry leave to check the time. To their shock, it is 5:02 a.m., and though they quickly rush out of the house with their telescopes, the comet has long gone.
As the duo lament their failure to see the comet, the nice old singer begins to perform a song about the dawn of the new day. Moved by its lyrics, Kiff and Barry imagine themselves walking through Table Town and appreciating the early-morning sights. Eventually, a neighbor yells at the singer to quiet down. Before leaving, the singer remarks that he tends to forget his songs immediately after performing them, and that in that sense, Kiff and Barry have just enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The games seen in the closet include Due, a parody of Uno; Olive Land, a parody of Candy Land; and Apology!, a parody of Sorry!.

This is the third time Kiff and Barry has a sleepover, but this is the first time Barry has a sleepover at Kiff's place.
Kiff and Barry wanting to stay up to watch Snaily's Comet is likely a callback on Barry asking his mom to extend the bedtime in "Harry's Maturity Crisis".
