Ursula's Magic Potion is a source of magic contained in a light purple colored glass bottle, which can fulfil any of the user's true desires. It was created by Ursula the sea witch, but later makes its way to Morgana where she stores it in her ice cave to save for a special occasion.
Role in the film[]
After successfully luring Melody into her lair, Morgana convinces her that the only thing that will make her happy is to become her true self - a mermaid. Melody's longing to be a part of their world grows, and so she will do anything to become one herself. Morgana's first part of her plan is to trick Melody into believing she is actually helping her, therefore using the remains of a potion that was hidden in the back of her storage. It was said that it previously belonged to her sister, who was a highly skilled sea witch, and only one drop was left, so she kept it for an emergency.
Morgana presents her findings to Melody and pours the remains onto her foot, which transforms the young girl into a red-tailed mermaid. Full of excitement, Melody swims and leaps to Morgana to give her a hug; however, Morgana later lies to her and explains deceitfully that the magic won't last forever and that Melody must bring her the trident to remain a mermaid forever.
Morgana imprisons Melody and Flounder into a cave and seals the entrance with a thick layer of ice. She tells Melody that her time as a mermaid has just expired at sundown.
Trivia[]
- Ursula's potion to transform into a mermaid before the sunset, is similar to the contract as Ariel change into a human before the sunset on the third day in the first film.
