Val Bettin (born August 1 1923) is a British Voice Actor who voiced Dr. David Q. Dawson in The Great Mouse Detective. He also took over as the role of the Sultan of Agrabah in The Return of Jafar (1994), Aladdin and the King of Thieves (1996) and the Aladdin tv series replacing the late [[Douglas Seale. His most famous non Disney voice is the voice of the Bishop in Dreamworks Animation SHREK (2001). Bettin was married to his wife Hildy for 57 years until her death in 2007.
