Vanessa Rodriguez is a character in the 2025 Disney/Pixar long-form animated series Win or Lose. She is the single mother of Rochelle and Zane and is the main protagonist of "Pickle".

Vanessa is shown to be a loving and supportive single mother, often showing care to her daughter, Rochelle. Despite this, she can also be somewhat oblivious, whether it be focusing on her social media to pay attention to what's going on.
Vanessa can somewhat refuse to accept that her children are engaging in bad actions like denying that Zane is misbehaving to his daycare teacher, despite him misbehaving at the moment and getting defensive towards Frank when he states that Rochelle was helping a student cheat on a test.
In spite of all of that, Vanessa isn't foolish as she can understand stuff, like when Rochelle begins engaging in less-than-idealized behavior, she realizes that Rochelle really has been helping other students cheat and that she went to a shady party to sell the shoes that she had bought for her.
It's very likely that her initial reluctance to accept the truth of her daughter's behavior was due to internal insecurities that Rochelle may be heading down a dark path since, amidst the chaos of her life, Rochelle and her apparent honesty were one of the few things that she could truly seek comfort in through her worries of failing her and Zane as a mother.

Vanessa is a 30-year-old plus-sized Latina woman with brown eyes and a beauty mark close to her right eye. She has pink hair which she wears in a high bun and wears red lipstick. She is first seen wearing earrings that read "Cool Mom", but when she finds out that Rochelle has been lying to her, she removes them.

- Given that she revealed that the championship game was taking place on her 30th birthday and her daughter is 13, it's highly implied that Rochelle was an unexpected teen pregnancy and that she was conceived during a one-night stand that Vanessa had with a boy at a teenage party when she was younger. Though, that raises the question of how Zane came into the picture.
