Vel Sartha is a stern and steady leader, and a survivor. She is willing to sacrifice creature comforts, personal relationships, and even her life for her missions against the Empire. Despite being born into Chandrilan privilege, Vel turned her back on her upbringing in favor of a more grounded life. Throughout her rustic experiences, she witnessed the injustices of the Empire and was motivated to aid the growing rebellion. Although she does not favor her upscale beginnings, Sartha has a strong relationship with her cousin Mon Mothma. As they are both involved in the nascent rebellion, they can both communicate about one of the most difficult aspects of their lives. When in the company of family and high society, she puts on the persona of a rich and spoiled girl, falling seamlessly back into the world of luxury when necessary.
