"W-I-L-D" is an upbeat song featured in The Jungle Book 2 sung by Baloo. During the song, Baloo is basically bragging about how cool and fun he and his jungle friends are while Mowgli joins in the fun.
The song was also included in the 2003 DVD edition of Disney Sing Along Songs: Circle of Life.
Baloo: When we start to move, hey honey
It ain't no joke
We got a savage groove, we didn't learn
from human folk
(Sparrow: No human folk! Ha ha ha!)
'scuse our incivility
When the music plays
All the people stomp their feet
(Animal: You'd better look out, Baloo.)
But a stomping paw can lay down a better beat, ha ha!
Tell me we ain't naturally
Baloo: It's a snap to bring out the beast in you
You're free like ze bird, it's true
Or a frog, or a hog, or- oh man, whatever!
(Chorus: Baby, we were born free!)
From the baddest cat to the sweetest little deer
Tonight's the night we're gonna get our tails in gear
Show me your ferocity
Chorus: We snort, we squeak
Up high or deep underground,
We snarl, we shriek
(Baloo: Bounce o' roonie!)
We fly round and round and round!
Baloo: Oh, go you sweet thing, that's inhuman, baby!
Mongooses: The old mongoose gets good and loose!
Ocelots: The ocelot gives it all he's got!
Parakeet: The parakeet goes (with the other parakeets) "tweedle deet"
Macaques: The red macaque shouts "Hang on, jack!"
Worm: The tiny worm
Elephant: The pachyderm
Ocelot: The spotted cat
Mouse: The water rat
Bird: The great cuckoo
Chorus: The bear Baloo (Baloo: It's me!) are W-I-L-D!
Baloo: Here's the thing: if we're broke, we never squawk
We don't need to check no clock to know what time it is!
All: IT'S TIME TO ROCK!
Baloo: When you dance like that, hey honey
It sure is hip
(Rhino: Oh, I can't stand it!)
I wanna tip my hat but, I got no hat to tip!
I don't need no hat.
Ask me why and I won't lie
We grunt, we growl, up high, or deep underground
We hoot we howl, we fly, round and round and round
Baloo: My oh me, it's plain to see
Baloo: He she me unique-ally
Baloo: Every beastie running free
- At one point during the song, a meerkat and a warthog resembling Timon and Pumbaa make a cameo.
- Though the film is set in India, there are hippos, lemurs and ocelots participating in this song. In real life, ocelots live in South America while hippos live in Africa and lemurs live in Madagascar; thus, these animals are not native to India in real life.
