The Avengers are setting up new Headquarters and training facilities around the globe to inspire all potential recruits willing to step up and become something more. As part of this global initiative, Tony Stark has founded the Worldwide Engineering Brigade — or WEB for short— to develop advancements in super-powered technology, including new enhancements to Spider-Man’s suit as their debut project. By bringing together the world’s brightest young inventors, the WEB is creating new interfaces that will empower all of us to join the ranks of Earth’s Mightiest. [6] Besides Peter Parker, other young recruits at WEB include Harley Keener, Moon Girl, and Squirrel Girl.[7]
Guests join WEB and utilize Spider-Man’s web-shooters to fire webs at screens as the ride vehicle engages in a “swinging sensation,” akin to the superhero’s web-swinging through the New York City skyline.[8]
There are various references to the building's previous usage as a Stark Motors factory. Most notably outside the building are the parking spaces of Howard Stark, Peggy Carter and Edwin Jarvis.
Other members of W.E.B. include Harley Keener from Iron Man 3 and several characters who were not integrated into the MCU at the time of the attraction's release such as Lunella Lafayette AKA Moon Girl (from the Devil Dinosaur property), Doreen Green AKA Squirrel Girl, and Onome from the Black Panther and Fantastic Four/Future Foundation properties. The lockers reference additional members including the likes of: Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, Anya Corazon, America Chavez, Rick Jones, Amadeus Cho, Bruno Carrelli, Cassie Lang, Dante Pertuz, Grisol Ramirez, Riri Williams, Shaun Lucas, and Takeshi Matsuya. All but Grisol are characters from Marvel Comics, as Grisol was a young Disney imagineer who tragically passed away in 2019.
The technology for the SLINGER vehicles is mentioned in the queue to be made from repurposed Stark Expo tech. This references the Stark Expo of Hong Kong Disneyland and is likely referencing the Iron Wing vehicles.
There are several allusions to Devil Dinosaur in the queue for the attraction. On the notice board is a missing poster made for it by Lunella, a figurine of Devil Dinosaur appears at Peter's desk, and artwork of Devil Dinosaur is on Lunella's locker.
There are allusions to WEB using Gamma Radiation in ways reminiscent of the radiation's usage in the Incredible Hulk property. Outside the building is a drainage system labelled as being for Gamma waste that has a massive tree growing out of it, referencing how gamma radiation made the Hulk giant.
One of the lockers in W.E.B. has the name Miles on it, referencing Miles Morales who is Spider-Man in the Ultimate Universe and was not featured in the MCU when the attraction as created. This locker also heavily references the 2018 non-Disney Sony film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse by having the polygon/magenta art-style of the locker reference Miles' art in the film, and depict an astronaut falling upwards as Miles does on the film's poster along with lightning bolts around the astronaut's head reference how Into the Spider-Verse visually represented the spider-sense. Graffiti artwork by Miles can be found outside of the building.
One of the lockers in W.E.B. has the logo for the band, "The Mary Janes" on it. This is a reference to Mary Jane Watson's band The Mary Janes from Earth-65, the reality which Spider-Gwen originates from. Gwen Stacy herself was the drummer for this band in said universe with said version of Mary Jane being that universe's counterpart to Carnage and a possible love interest of Gwen. Gwen Stacy's skateboard can also be found in the base with the name for the band on it.
Many of the logos and color-schemes printed on the lockers in WEB represent different Marvel characters. This includes: Spider Girl, Kamala Khan's Ms. Marvel, and America Chavez.
On the notice board is an advertisement for being tutored in the language of Xhosa, the native language of Wakanda. The notice advertises tutors in the forms of WEB member Onome, and Kamala Khan's friend Bruno Carelli.
Blueprints for the original Stark Industries Complex incarnation of Avengers Campus are framed on the wall. The complex is identified as using utilidors, a system famously created for and used in Walt Disney World.
On the notice board is a photograph of Harley Keener and Squirrel Girl at Stark Expo outside of the Iron Man Experience.
A WALL-E keychain on the notice board references late imagineer Grisol Ramirez.
