Waipo Chen is the grandmother of Katy Chen, first seen, Shaun goes to her apartment for breakfast, like he does every day as it is mentioned by her grandson. She is shown to miss her deceased husband and has all his favorite things, like Funyuns and cigarettes at the table, for the Day of the Dead. Shaun questions her, mentioning that last year she put a bottle of whiskey on his grave and it was gone the next day. She also thinks Shaun and Katy are in a relationship.
