"Walk the Dinosaur" is a song originally performed by the band Was (Not Was) originally included in their album, What Up, Dog?. In Disney media, it was featured in the Disney's Sing-Along Songs video Flik's Musical Adventure at Disney's Animal Kingdom, where it is sung when the children explore the DinoLand U.S.A. area at Disney's Animal Kingdom, albeit with alternate lyrics unlike in the original version, due to the original lyrics actually being a cleverly-written protest against nuclear weaponry (as confirmed by Randy Jacobs, one of the song's co-writers). At the end of the song, one of the children takes a picture of a Carnotaurus from the attraction Countdown to Extinction (now Dinosaur as of today).
Lyrics[]
It was a night like this, so very, very long ago
The dinosaurs could dance and they were putting on a show
Back and forth, they moved their feet
To the thunder in the skies
Tails as long as fire trucks
And great big yellow eyes!
I walked the dinosaur
I walked the dinosaur
Open the door, get on the floor
Everybody walk the dinosaur!
(repeat verse four more times)
We had a pet named "Rex"
He was a funny kind of guy
We used to grab his neck
And take a ride in the sky
And that is why we do this dance
To show the way we walked
Sometimes, I swear I even heard Tyrannosaurus talk!
I walked the dinosaur
I walked the dinosaur
Open the door, get on the floor
Everybody walk the dinosaur!
(repeat verse four more times)
(chant verse)
