Walt Disney: One Man's Dream, a museum-like walkthrough attraction that explores the life of Walt Disney and his legacy through photos, models, rare artifacts and a short biographical film narrated by Julie Andrews. It opened in 2001 for Walt Disney's 100th birthday.
Summary
It is an interactive gallery featuring memorabilia from the Disney archives that have never been available before. Visitors are shown artifacts from Walt Disney's life and from the history of the company he founded from his birth in 1901 through the company's vision for the future. In addition, the attraction includes a short film of Walt Disney's life that explores the extraordinary hardships he overcame, as well as previously unseen footage, including Walt talking about his creation, Mickey Mouse.
The film was originally hosted by Michael Eisner, but after Eisner stepped down as CEO of the Walt Disney Company, Disney Legend Julie Andrews narrated the film. It opened on October 1, 2001 for Walt Disney World's 100 Years of Magic celebration. Among the artifacts on display: A model of Main Street, U.S.A. from Disneyland, An Oscar for 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, a model of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Walt Disney's actual office from Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California.
