Wasp (real name Janet Van Dyne) is a superhero who appears in the Disney Jr. Marvel series Spidey and his Amazing Friends. She is often seen alongside her partner, Ant-Man, who both team up with Team Spidey when they need a helping hand.
Background[]
Wasp is very friendly and considerate, as she and Ant-Man are willing to respond to Team Spidey when they need their shrinking technology to help save the day. Like her partner, she uses her technology to help those in need.
She is a young girl with short brown hair. She wears a yellow and purple supersuit with a pair of transparent goggles that are fitted with headphones and a speaker on the right side.
Powers and abilities[]
- Size Manipulation: Through the use of the Pym Particles and a device fitted into his super suit, Wasp is able to shrink herself down to much smaller sizes.
- Flight: When shrunk, Wasp can deploy a pair of insect wings that allow her to fly. When returned to normal size, these wings retract.
Equipment[]
- Shrink disks: Both Wasp and Ant-Man carry a supply of small devices called shrink disks, which can shrink who or whatever they are attached to.
Role in the series[]
Wasp first appears in the short "A Teeny Tiny Solution" alongside Ant-Man to rescue a kid's toy that fell down the drain, and later in "Mini Golf Goof" when Gobby causes trouble at the mini golf park. She and Ant-Man are summoned by Ghosty, and together take down Gobby and his golf ball shooting windmill.
Wasp and Ant-Man are summoned again by Ghosty and Spin in "The Ant Thief" when the museum's precious jewels get stolen by ants. After giving Ghosty and Spin shrink disks, they follow the ants to Doc Ock's lair, where the ants are under the influence of mind control devices fitted to their heads.
