You know Weasel? Sneaky looking guy in a bad suit? One of this town's biggest gangsters?
―Detective Thursday reveling Weazel's true nature to Baloo

Weazel is a one-time character and the secondary antagonist of the TaleSpin episode "Vowel Play".

Role in the episode[]

Weazel is first seen entering Higher for Hire asking them to skywrite "Chicken Soup," saying it is to let his "wife" know what he wants for lunch. However, it is not to let his "wife" know what he wants for lunch (he does not even have a wife). He is working for a notorious criminal named Heimlich Menudo to pull off the "Heimlich Maneuver," and "Chicken Soup" is a code for the crooks Heimlich has hired to drop everything they are doing and report to the launch sites.

Weazel is rewarded for finding a foolish bear to do the skywriting for them and is given a very small diamond. He asks why he can't have a big one, and Menudo says it's because they are his. Heimlich says he loves them and goes on about why he loves them, but it is cut short when Weazel accidentally bumps into the desk while looking for his diamond. This causes the diamond that Heimlich had to go into his mouth and cause him to choke. Weazel, however, does not notice him choking, even when Heimlich writes him a note that says, "I'm choking." which he mistakes for the code to begin the next part of the Heimlich Maneuver. But Heimlich gets the diamond out and slaps him for not noticing he could not breathe. Weazel says he was too busy thinking of the Heimlich Maneuver to notice Menudo was choking.

Weazel goes back to Higher for Hire to give Baloo a new message: "Eat at Joe's" (which is the code to start the Heimlich Maneuver in 2 hours), saying it is what he wants to take his "wife" to dinner. Baloo says that Joe shut down last week, and Weazel gets angry and accidentally drops a book. He storms off while Rebecca goes to apologize.

Baloo is arrested by Detective Thursday for suspicious activity, thinking that he is involved in a major crime. Baloo says he was just writing messages for Weazel, and Thursday reveals that Weazel is one of Cape Suzette's biggest gangsters. Baloo shows him the book Weazel dropped, and it turns out the book has secret codes. Rebecca says that the next time Weazel gives them a word to skywrite, they'll refuse, but Thursday says that he needs them to play along now that they have the code book.

Weazel is talking to Heimlich about his dream of building a mansion made out of the diamonds coming true – everything from the icebox to the toaster and the telephone. Weazel tells Heimlich the phone is ringing, and Heimlich answers it. He is told that the cops have instructed everyone to stay indoors and refuse his demands. Heimlich is outraged and orders Weazel to give Baloo the code to blow up Cape Suzette: "Wait until dark."

Weazel comes back to Higher for Hire and gives Baloo the code, then leaves, saying, "It has been unpleasant knowing you."

Baloo, however, spells "Wieght until dark," which is the code to attack City Hall. Heimlich and Weazel, who are watching through a window, are confused since they did not give the code to attack City Hall. Kit is able to remove the "I" with his airfoil, and Baloo is able to spell "Weight until dark."

Heimlich realizes he has been tricked and orders him to prepare his helicopter for liftoff. But Weazel refuses unless he says his name right, which Heimlich immediately does.

Heimlich and Weazel try to tell the criminals to turn back, but they still drop the bombs in the ocean and deflate their blimps. They ram the helicopter into the Sea Duck in an attempt to go through it, but Baloo releases the smoke for the skywriting, which blocks their view and causes Heimlich and Weazel to land in the ocean, where they are immediately surrounded by police boats.

Trivia[]
