"Weekend with Grandpop" is the first segment of the fifty-seventh episode of Vampirina. It is the first half of the seventh episode of the third season. It premiered on October 13, 2020.
Synopsis[]
When Grandpop comes to bat-sit Vee, everyone is nervous because he's not used to human life.
Plot[]
Vampirina tells Oxana and Boris that Poppy and Bridget have arrived for the sleepover. Oxana and Boris will be away, as Nanpire and Grandpop will be coming to stay. Grandpop then arrives and is glad to see Vampirina again. He is making monster milkshakes and trying out his new invisibility spell. Grandpop is glad to see Poppy and Bridget, and mentions that Nanpire had to stay home, as cousin Goopy needed some help babysitting the Swamp-tuplets. Vampirina states it's okay, as it's been a while since she's had just a weekend with Grandpop, and Poppy and Bridget can join. Grandpop plans for them to do everything they used to do in Transylvania, but better, and mentions a great time he'll have with Vampirina.
First up is a haunted picnic. Gregoria and Boris see that Grandpop isn't used as used to doing things the human way in Pennsylvania. Edna said she'd be coming back with food, and Vampirina decides for her friends to show Grandpop human friendly fun. As Grandpop prepares the cake, Vampirina prevents it from going inside, and Poppy decides on a picnic basket. Grandpop then puts the food in the basket before they go to the park.
Grandpop is taking Penelope and Wolfie on the picnic when Edna shows up, delighted to see him. Grandpop mentions that everybody walks their plant, which Vampirina supports, and this makes Edna and Grandpop laugh. Grandpop gives Wolfie milk, turning him into a werewolf. As Grandpop tries to serve Edna chocolate cake, Demi appears from the basket. Vampirina serves the cake, and Poppy brings Edna to get some plates while the others bring Wolfie inside, where Gregoria takes care of him. Vampirina tells Grandpop they shouldn't bring floating food, a monster plant, or a werewolf to the park. Grandpop is still confident they'll make the weekend spooktastic.
He recaps that he gave a chocolate chuckle cake to Edna, who is suspicious about it until Vampirina tells her what it does. She takes it away to the Scare B&B, and knows that Grandpop isn't used to doing things the human way. Up next is mummy tag, but Vampirina tells Grandpop to keep the weekend simple by doing one of their favorite human activities, like movie night, to which Grandpop accepts. He gets everything ready through magic. Bridget knows this isn't how she and Poppy normally do movie night. Edna then arrives, and Vampirina tells Grandpop about it. He makes everything disappear with his invisibility spell just as Edna arrives, and is effected by the spell.
Poppy and Bridget bring the dessert Edna is holding to the kitchen. Grandpop didn't mean to cast the spell on Edna, but all he has to do is reverse it. Vampirina tells Grandpop that the "spook" part of making the weekend spooktastic is the problem; they need to do things a little differently. Grandpop apologizes for making a mess out of things, and decides to call Oxana and Boris to fix everything. Vampirina tells Grandpop to stay, as she's enjoying their weekend together and all that matters is that they spend time together. Grandpop loves Vampirina, as well.
He then heads to the kitchen, where Edna offers ice cream with pie. Poppy and Bridget go to get it, and Grandpop makes Edna the way she was. Later, movie night starts, and Vampirina states that no matter what they do, it's always the most spooktastic weekend when they're together. Grandpop then pops the popcorn.
