"Welcome to NecroComic-Con" is the first segment of the thirty-fifth episode of the Disney Channel animated series The Ghost and Molly McGee
Synopsis[]
Ollie struggles to have the difficult conversation with his parents and reveal that he is friends with a ghost.
Plot[]
Molly and Scratch are with the Chens at NecroComic-Con, a convention for ghost enthusiasts. The Chens have their own booth and rival the even more popular Ernie Fudderson, who is considered a true ghost expert and has a giant following. The Chens hope to beat him this year by showing off the cannister that contained the ghosts they captured on Halloween. Ollie is uncomfortable as they do not know he is friends with Scratch and is afraid of coming out to them about the truth about ghosts, fearing for the safety of Scratch as well as Geoff and Jeff. Molly feels he should be honest, but he is afraid of the backlash. Meanwhile, Scratch is disguised as a bedsheet ghost so that he can gain the collectables at the convention.
Ollie puts together a complex plan to get the cannister from his family without them knowing, though Molly is slightly concerned over its complexity. They try, but fail to get it with Ollie wishing to utilize a chicken suit to get the cannister, much to Molly's frustration. Scratch eventually runs into Ernie who mocks his "costume" and challenges him to a trivia game about ghosts. Despite Scratch technically having all the answers, Ernie beats him due to the public's ignorance about ghosts. When Scratch loses, he reveals himself as an actual ghost to everyone, but they all assume he is wearing another costume and is booed of the stage.
Ruben and Esther are about to present the cannister at a showcase to reveal the existence of ghosts, but Molly finally urges Ollie to come clean to them and tells them that not all ghosts are bad. While his parents commend him for having empathy they disagree and push forward with the showcase. Ollie tells June that a ghost is what made her cannister work in the first place, which convinces her to switch out the cannister with a plushie, humiliating Ruben and Esther. Afterwards, Molly and Ollie decide to finally introduce Scratch to June who immediately takes an interest in him and asks if she can perform experiments on him.
