Wendy Beckett was the mother of Walter Beckett in the 2019 Blue Sky Studios animated film, Spies in Disguise.
Background[]
Prior to her death, Wendy Beckett served as a police officer in trying to protect the city. She cared about Walter making gadgets, although she disliked it when her son took her cellphone apart to make gadgets.
Role in the film[]
Wendy approaches her son Walter to know if he saw her tweezers to which open entering, Walter's faulty gadget accidentally breaks half of her coffee mug. Walter makes a gadget for her to wear for her on patrol to keep her safe as Walters describes what this gadget is used for to which it is revealed that Walter took apart of her cellphone to which he uses glitter from the gadget he made for her to prevent her from scolding him. Wendy, however, hears a dispatcher on her walkie talkie just as she decides to take care of her assignment by herself just before getting Walter ready for school, explaining to him that in the future, his gadgets would keep the world safe just before giving her son a non-inflatable hug just before she leaves.
Year later, Wendy is revealed to have died as revealed via newspaper that she died during her duty as a police officer which reads "Hero Officer Killed". It is also revealed that her mug broken by one of Walter's faulty gadgets during his childhood has been glued. Walter grieves over his late mother in his house just before Lance Sterling arrives to take him to find Katsu Kimura.
With Killian defeated, Lance tells Walter to look at the world around him at Washington, D.C. upon seeing the Washington Monument from a distance, explaining that his mother would be proud of him if she were alive just as Lance praises Walter for his bravery in saving the world.

- Wendy is born in 1978.
- According to the plaque, Wendy died in 2009, making her 31 at the time of her death. This is the same year the Blue Sky Studios film, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs was released.
