What Shall We Do With The Angry Monster? is a 2018 educational short film produced for the Hope Works Project by british independent production company Ragdoll Productions, and is Disney UK's commission for the project.
Synopsis[]
The short begins with three little creatures named Hatties building a house together. However, they soon hear loud thudding footsteps and run to hide. They watch out as a large monster, completely red and angry to the brim, destroys their house. They soon rebuild the house but the monster returns and kicks it away.
The blue Hattie is not pleased and tries to attack the Monster, but he throws the tree away and sends him cowering. The green Hattie thinks that maybe some flowers could cheer him up, but that doesn't work either. The yellow Hattie tickles him, but that also just gets him even more angrier.
After the yellow Hattie is thrown around, he notices why the Monster could be so angry - he's sat on the blue Hattie's hat! The yellow Hattie tries to get it out, but he's too small. He asks the other Hatties for help, and they successfully get the hat out.
The monster turns back to his standard yellow colour, and dances together with the hatties as they rebuild their house.
Development[]
HopeWorks was originally created by the BBC and Sky Kids to help children cope with the anxieties in life. In December 2017, Disney UK announced that they had joined the project and that their commission for HopeWorks would be an animated short film co-produced with Ragdoll Productions, with a delivery set for 2018.[1]
