On January 17, 2017, Kenya Barris was developing a White Men Can't Jump remake with NBA star Blake Griffin and NFL player Ryan Kalil producing. Nothing came up about the project until November of 2021, when Calmatic was revealed to be the director.[1]
On March 3, 2022, Deadline reported that rapper Jack Harlow joined the cast in the lead role.[2]
On April 13, 2022, Deadline reported that Sinqua Walls joined the cast as Kamal, who was portrayed by Wesley Snipes in the original film.[3]
Filming began on May 11, 2022,[4] and wrapped up by July 2022.[5]
