"Wild Child" is the second segment of the eighteenth episode of Recess.

Synopsis[]

In the "Pee Wee Pals" program, the main kids each have to take care of a kindergartner during recess.

Plot[]

Miss Grotke and Mrs. Klemperer have set up the "Pee Wee Pals" program. In it, each fourth grader has to care for a kindergartner during recess. Gretchen is assigned with Emma, Vince with Jake, Spinelli with Cindy, Mikey with Zedd, Gus with Hector, and T.J. with Spencer.

T.J. tries to teach Spencer how to play marbles, but Spencer spills the marbles, causing King Bob and his carriers to slip and fall, arousing the wrath of King Bob. He next tries to teach Spencer to use the swings, but Spencer crashes into Swinger Girl, making her angry too. T.J. then teaches Spencer about booby-trapped drinking fountains, getting Randall wet. But Spencer makes Buster angry by making him wet too.

Meanwhile, Gretchen bonds with Emma over chess, Vince with Jake over kickball, Spinelli with Cindy over arm wrestling, Mikey with Zedd over cloud watching, and Gus begins protecting Hector from danger, thus earning him the nickname "Safety Man".

By the end of the day, the Recess Gang come together with Mrs. Klemperer happy to see that the Kindergartners are well behaved. T.J. arrives last with Spencer who reveals that his day with him was hectic, but that he liked it and gives him his hat, telling him that he needs a gang to back him up. The people that were chasing T.J. catch up and he continues running while Mrs. Klemperer is once again tortured by the Kindergartners.
