Orville Willis "Will" Forte IV is an American actor, comedian, writer, and producer. He is best known for being a cast member on the NBC late-night sketch comedy and variety show Saturday Night Live, as well as creating and starring in the Fox sitcom The Last Man on Earth. He is also well-known for voicing King Toot in the Fox animated sitcom The Simpsons, Abe Lincoln in the HBO Max adult animated sitcom Clone High, Joe Towne in the 2009 Sony Pictures animated film Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Chester V, Flint Lockwood's childhood idol and the main antagonist of the 2013 sequel film Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, and Norville "Shaggy" Rogers in the 2020 WAG computer-animated film Scoob! and most recently Gordon Lighthouse from the 2023 Dreamworks Animation animated film Ruby Gillman Teenage Kraken. Additionally, he portrayed the titular character of the SNL sketch MacGruber (a parody of MacGyver) and the 2010 film of the same name and Doug, Reggie's abusive owner and the main antagonist of the 2023 R-rated Universal Pictures comedy film Strays.
For Disney, he portrayed Young French Policeman Bobby in Around the World in 80 Days. He also voiced Eddy in the Disney XD animated series Lab Rats, Gordon Gibble in Kick Buttowski: Suburban Daredevil, and Tyler Cutebiker in Gravity Falls. He will voice Coach Dan in the 2023 Disney+ animated series Win or Lose.
Forte was born in Alameda, California, the son of artist and former schoolteacher Patricia C. (née Stivers) and financial broker Orville Willis "Reb" Forte III. He was raised in Moraga before moving to Lafayette at age 13. He went by "Billy" in his early years until he was teased at school for it also being a girl's name, at which point he decided he would from then on be known as "Will". Forte describes himself as having been a "really happy little boy" whose parents were "wonderful" and created a "very loving environment". He was interested in comedy from a young age, growing up idolizing comedians Peter Sellers, David Letterman, and Steve Martin, as well as the sketch comedy television series Saturday Night Live. He often pulled pranks on his parents and would record himself performing imaginary radio shows. He did not aim to be a comedian, however, and initially wanted to become a football player.
