"World's Best Kiss" is the second episode of the second season of the ABC comedy-musical Galavant.
Synopsis[]
Isabella plots her escape from Hortensia when she receives a call from Galavant via crystal ball. King Richard discovers his castle has disappeared.
Plot[]
Richard continues to complain to Galavant about the constant walking. This results in him getting a hole in his shoe and Galavant deciding they will camp for the night while looking for a way to fix his shoe. Galavant quickly becomes even more motivated to rescue Isabella when he realizes that the first kiss he shared with her was terrible, which Isabella herself also realizes as well. Galavant and Richard comes across a town that is in the middle of a festival as Richard is suddenly hounded by a unicorn that is drawn to those "pure of body" (i.e. someone who has not had sex). Galavant learns that it will take all day to fix Richard's shoe.
Back in Valencia, Madalena allows Gareth to bring his own things into the castle, but quickly regrets it when he puts up a gaudy painting titled "Dogs Jousting". She orders it to be tossed into the moat, which Gareth sees and responds by tossing Madalena's rug in there as well. They begin to fight by tossing more things into the moat before Sid, who has become Gareth's assistant, stops them when Madalena is about to throw him in as well. Sid starts by having the two of them open up, via song, about what their main interests are like, deviating from one another. They eventually conclude that they both find Sid annoying and toss him into the moat, resolving to toss more things in there.
Galavant and Richard meet Edwin the Magnificent, a fortune teller who uses cheap fortune telling tricks, yet still knows much about them. When he reveals that he has a staff that can contact anyone, though it has poor reception, they decide to use it to contact Isabella. Isabella gives her amulet (which she insists that she has always had) to Vincenzo with the intent to sneak out of Hortensia so that she can be reunited with Galavant, getting help from Steve who is playing hide-n-seek with Prince Harry. Vincenzo informs Richard about Gareth's betrayal, sending him into a depression.
Vincenzo finally gets Isabella on the amulet, but the bad reception gives her the impression that Galavant no longer wants to see her due to the bad kiss and that he thinks she is ugly. On Galavant's side, he thinks that Isabella liked their kiss. Isabella goes back to her doll box in grief. An annoyed Richard, finally having had enough of the unicorn following him, threatens it with a sword he pulled from a stump. Galavant gives Richard the confidence to return to his kingdom. As they leave, they are unaware of the plaque in front of the sword revealing that it can only be lifted by the one true king. As Richard informs Galavant that he will help him get Isabella back, they are shocked to discover that the former's castle is missing.
