"Wrong Way Wagon Train" is an episode from the Disney Jr. series Sheriff Callie's Wild West, which aired on February 22, 2016.
Plot[]
The episode begins with a family of vultures (a mother and her two sons) traveling across the desert in their two wagons and eventually getting lost.The mother scolds her sons because the map they stole wasn't the map but instead instructions to build a cuckoo clock. She also points out to them that need to go to Deadweed County where there are no sheriffs nearby. After the spot a town in the distance (which was Nice and Friendly Corners) the boys ask their mother if they can stop to take a break there and the mother reluctantly agrees, so they head towards the town.
Meanwhile, at Nice and Friendly Corners, Deputy Peck keeps an eye on the town while sheriff Callie is at the barber shop getting a haircut. Peck tells Toby that they should be careful because bandits can be anywhere. By the time the vultures have already come into town, the mother orders her sons to close the wagon so the townspeople can't see what they stole. After they took off their robber masks she explained to them her plan about tricking someone in the town with her sad made-up story to feel sympathy for them and show them the way to Deadweed County.
The scene shifts to Ella's saloon talking to goldie (her goldfish) about this being another ordinary boring day and Ella wishing for something exciting to happen.Then the pack of vultures enter the saloon and Ella goes to serve them. When Ella asks them if they have come from far the mother tells her a fake sob story about her being a poor widow with two sons living in Deadweed County.With their crops dead and barn fallen down they decided to search for a better life. But then a tornado crashed their wagon to pieces sending it away and they had lost everything. Now they were helpless and we're looking for someone to get them back to Deadweed County. Ella feels incredibly bad for them and tells them that they will take them do the person who can lead them anywhere in the West.
The vulture family and Ella go to the barber shop to find Callie. Ella explains the family's situation with at first Callie hesitating to get them there since that is no sheriffs around but after the mother tells her that they want to go there because it was their hometown Callie is more than happy to show them the way. And Ella decides to come along with her as she can prepare their meals when traveling in the wagons. Then they realize that Callie is the sheriff of the town (since her badge was covered by the hair apron she was wearing while at the barber shop and the vultures could not see it) . Then the mother tells Callie that she has an entire town to protect and they'll find the way on their own. Callie insists saying that there are a lot of bandits out there in the desert and they need protection and claims that "Helping them out is the right thing to do". So the prairie dogs sang “helping is the right thing to do!”
As the're ready to hit the road,the mother is explaining to her sons her new plan which is "When Callie gets them close to Deadweed County ,they get rid of her"and then take off. After Callie Ella and the vultures leave, another family of squirrels came to town asking for directions saying that three vultures stole all their property (The same vultures Kelly and Ella were leading to Deadweed County). After Peck and Toby learn the horrible news, they immediately go after Callie to warn her about the truth about the vultures, Peck rides Clementine (his mule) and Toby rides Little Prickles (his goat).
It was late evening and Callie announced that they would stop for today and continue tomorrow because one of the wagons is wheels have broken throughout the journey and she needed some time to fix it, so they settled the wagons down for the night and Ella started to make dinner. As Ella was serving dinner to the vultures she accidentally comes across the things they have stole from the squirrel family.
At the same time during a nighttime sandstorm in the desert, Peck and Toby were still looking for Callie to warn her about the vultures but they got lost and eventually they were traveling in circles, until Toby spotted a sign and told Peck a town ahead, Peck says we made it to Deadweed County. But he slipped off Clementine as she stopped to eat some grass near the sign. After the fall, both Clementine and Little Prickles had been exhausted by this point, After Peck got up and says watch where you’re (but got interrupted by the sign for Nice and Friendly Corners and he says “Nice and Friendly Corners?!”), Toby says “Wow. We’ve been traveling around in a circle?”, after seeing the sign, both turned their bodies around from looking at the sign to see both Clementine and Little Prickles fell asleep and this made both Peck and Toby groan.
Upon seeing the loot Ella immediately knows that something is wrong with them and when the vultures are not looking she decides to tell Callie about her discovery. She tells her that the vultures are thieves, that she found everything inside the wagon and shows her the loot. Just then the vultures trap Callie and Ella inside the wagon. Unable to get out, Callie sends her horse Sparky to get help, and the 2 vultures chased after him despite the fact that the vulture mother told them to let him go and that they don’t have time to chase some silly pony, So the prairie dogs sang again about the buzzards tricked poor Ella and even Callie too, with just a busted wagon, what will they do?, Ella tells Callie that this was all her fault, all because she believed their fake sob story like a "silly fool". She tried to console her by saying she only tried to do the right thing and help folks in need. As they were wondering about how are they going to escape Callie used her claws to rip open the wagon and the girls eventually escape. After their escape Callie breaks the rest of the wagon's wheels with a rock to get it move and catch the bandits.
Sometime later back in Nice and Friendly Corners, both Clementine and Little Prickles were still asleep, this time in front of the jailhouse (back where they started before), Toby says he think all of that riding around in a big circle tucked them out. Peck says but they were gonna save Sheriff Callie and Ella from the vultures, and he wishes he had a really fast horse, At the same time, Sparky finds Toby and Peck (both said Sparky?” But Toby said it first while peck was still looking at Clementine sleeping), So Sparky lifted Peck up on his back. And while Toby went to grab his scooter and helmet, he warns Peck (before Toby came in with his scooter) that Callie is in danger, Toby says “I think he wants him to go with him Peck”. But Sparky neighs, but Toby says “Well I’m coming too!” and they instantly ride off to help her
Ella and Callie turn the wagon into an on wheels sailboat (if that's how you call it) to stop the bandit vultures who are only a few meters away from Deadweed County and almost succeed but Sheriff Callie just in time captures the bandits to put them into jail, Also, when Ella said “Whew, now can we go home sheriff?” Peck and Toby got ejected off Sparky and Toby’s scooter when they approached a big rock ahead of their path, sending both of them flying into the air, and Callie says well, we just have 2 partners that need saving, and she says “Coming boys!” and then the episode ends with Callie, Peck, Toby and Ella in the sailwagon returning back to town. And for the last time, closing out the episode, the prairie dogs sang again about “they had enough excitement for themselves!”
